The atmosphere is absolutely delightful and sophisticated. The waitstaff were incredibly attentive and friendly. However, I must express my dissatisfaction with the exorbitant prices. The steak I ordered was overcooked and dry, with an excessive amount of gristle that made it difficult to consume, all for the price of 30 euros. Additionally, they topped it off with an overcooked and mushy mesh of onions. The steak lacked any discernible flavor and was of poor quality.

When I pointed out that the menu was misleading and expressed my disappointment, the owner responded in a very confrontational manner, insisting that I was at fault for choosing the wrong steak. She continued to berate me in front of my friends, repeatedly emphasizing that I should not complain about a dry steak if I ordered it well-done. While I understand that Germans tend to be outspoken, I refuse to tolerate such embarrassment and the owner's refusal to let the matter rest. To top this, I asked for a doggy bag and was handed the 30 euro steak wrapped in aluminum. Hmmm....lesson learned. Wir waren heute um die Mittagszeit im MAX. Glücklicherweise hatten wir reserviert, denn das Lokal war komplett voll besetzt. Das ist schon mal ein gutes Zeichen. Ein freundlicher Empfang vom Personal mit Begleitung zum Tisch war schon ein guter Start. Das Ambiente ist der absolute Hammer. Eine riesige Halle, die an eine Kirchen-Mittenschiff erinnert, aber eine ganz andere Historie aufzuweisen hat. Ein Gebäude von 1902 mit dekorativen Elementen, die heutzutage einfach nicht mehr bezahlbar sind, wenn man so neu errichten möge. Man lese hierzu auf jeden Fall die Chronologie in der Speisekarte. Bei der Auswahl der Speisen haben wir die (wohl) unvermeidlichen Schnitzel links liegen gelassen und uns auf was Aussergewöhnliches konzentriert: Erstklassig gebratene Rinderleber gibt es nicht überall, Käsespätzle mit (ungewöhnlich) Schweinefilet und das Tagesgericht Sauerbraten. Der Sauerbraten war butterzart, die Sauce gekonnt. Auch die Beilagensalate waren mit einem Dressing geschmückt, welches definitiv nicht aus der Packung kommt. Eine 1A-Lage in der Innenstadt mit Aussengastronomie ist wohl ein Garant für viel Zuspruch; aber wer will schon draussen sitzen, wenn man in so einem tollen Ambiente innen bewirtet...
