A Truly Unforgettable Experience at Weingut Eduard Kroth
My visit to Weingut Eduard Kroth was an absolute highlight of my trip to the Mosel Valley. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the incredible hospitality of the owner, Bart Kroth, and his son, Moritz. Their passion for winemaking, a tradition passed down through their family for centuries, is genuinely inspiring.
The tasting experience was superb, and their selections are nothing short of spectacular. As a lover of German wines, I was completely captivated by their Rieslings. From the crisp, dry Kabinett to the rich and complex Spätlese, each wine was a perfect expression of the Mosel's unique terroir. The balance of acidity and fruit was flawless, showcasing the mastery of their craft.
But what truly surprised and delighted me was their red wine. Their Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) was a revelation—elegant, with beautiful cherry and berry notes, and a finish that was both smooth and memorable. It's a testament to their dedication to producing exceptional wines across the board.

Read moreMy wife and I were stationed in Germany from 1998 to 2004 and visited this winery frequently. We were always met by Bart's father, Eduard, with a kind smile and a warm embrace. We brought several people to this hidden gem and many continue to support them whenever possible. We ourselves still order wine and have it shipped to the US a couple times a year. Bart and family have been an absolute pleasure to do business with. There are obviously several wineries to choose from in the region, but a very limited number who would actually take you in as family just as the Kroth family has done for me and mine. The wine is always incredible, but I feel like we've been made family. As a result, there's no reason to go elsewhere. This place is legit and worthy to support however/whenever possible. You won't be...
Read moreMe and Anna had our best wine experience with Bartho. He took his to sit with us to explain the different types of wine and grapes his family has produced for 19 generations. With Bartho we gained experience at the meaning of the different grapes, vines and the meaning of the Mosel River. Bartho also gave us travel tips for our continued journey at the Mosel River. The wines from Eduard Kroth enrich us with the driest and sweetest wines and all between. I would highly recommend a visit at Eduard Kroth and Bartho if you ever will be at the Mosel River. Bartho also...
