Ελαιώνας restaurant- eleon suites-Ελιά cafe Αλόννησος — Restaurant in Alonnisos Municipality

What an absolutely incredible place! I’m reviewing both the suites and the restaurant here, and I should probably keep my views to myself to keep it the tranquil paradise that it is. But praise where praise is due. This was my third consecutive summer staying at Eleonas suites and eating at the restaurant on numerous occasions. Starting with the location, I don’t think you can beat it. It’s just stunning. My photos give you a bit of an impression, but it’s the bay, the crystal clear water, the olive trees, the beautiful landscaping outside and around the suites (Adonis is an artist, not a gardener!), that make it perfect. Second, the people. From Eleni, who handles the reservations in a kind and professional manner; Adonis, who picks you up from the port with a smile and a genuinely friendly welcome; Nikos, the owner, who is there every day, checking everything works smoothly with a smile; to all the staff members who work at the beach, serve you at the restaurant, etc.- everyone is just very friendly, which adds so much to the paradise atmosphere. Third, this is a family business that epitomises everything that’s great about that concept. They love their island, and appreciate it if you do, too. Thank you so much! During our stay, we visited this place twice. The first visit was pleasant; a guy working on the beach was super nice, and we enjoyed a lunch with fine food and great wine in the restaurant. However, an incident occurred when the manager rudely argued loudly over a bill with an older nice couple, which was totally - not ok, whatever was behind it.

The next day, we used the sunbeds at the bar above the beach, and that was a mistake. The service was disrespectful, and the staff, both the server and bartender, were rude and unprofessional. One of them was completely inarticulate, making communication difficult and the atmosphere unpleasant.

It's a shame because it's clear that someone invested a lot to make this place look great, and the beach is one of the most beautiful on the island. However, the poor treatment of guests overshadowed the positives. This is not the kind of experience you want on a...

Very beautiful and gourmet restaurant. The prices of the dishes don't meet the quality/quantity of the served dishes. For example the salad was very well made but it was very small. The traditional Chortopita of Alonissos was burned and oily. The first main tuna dish (16 €) had adequate quantity of a very well made tuna but the fish was cold when it arrived to our table and the garnish was tasty but minimum in quantity. The second main grouper dish (25 €) had a moderate quantity of fish but the whole plate was neutral and not tasty.
