A shop and cafe with one of the most delightful views you will find anywhere. Not a spectacular view, just a lovely view over the hills and countryside. The shop is a small village store, cum cafe, cum souvenir and local products for tourists and visitors. Blink and you will miss it. Google Maps calls it 'Old Time Cafe' - the sign says in Greek I think Pantoppleioi Lionatoi and that it is a coffee shop, a kafeneio. Much done up since the pictures in Google street view. Small, but bigger than it looks inside. Coming from the castle direction we parked just past the bus stop slightly further on. Enjoyed the home made lemonade and another time would try the Greek coffee. We only just noticed the other very traditional looking store and restaurant a few yards further on, and only on looking at Google did I realise that that is a much bigger village store and cafe / restaurant. So there is more in this little village than you might think. It was a good short stop for us in between the castle and the...

Charming view with a nostalgic, old-time vibe — that part we really enjoyed. The lemonade and apple pie were both lovely. Unfortunately, the coffee was very poor.

The real issue came when we tried to pay. We had bought three homemade jams to go, but when it was time to settle the bill, they claimed the card machine wasn’t working due to a “bad signal” and asked if we had cash. We only had €20, which wasn’t enough.

When they noticed we were willing to wait for the signal to return, they suddenly told us it was back — but then split the payment in a strange way: they charged part to the card and still took the €20 in cash. The whole thing felt shady and unprofessional.

Great setting and some good items, but the payment experience left a very bad impression....

Old customers of Old Time Cafè and its magical terrace in Troianata. Today on our way to the port of Sami we stopped to say hello to the owners, unfortunately my wife dropped an already precariously balanced fruit jam. It is useless to reassure them that they will compensate the damaged goods because the laughing and welcoming people from before turned into angry, irritated people, they made us weigh what had happened and in the end they added to the souvenir the sum of the crushed jam demanding full price and not the Net cost. They presented us with a bill of 32€ without a receipt. Never again from Old time cafe, the...

We found the Old Time Cafe only by passing by on route the mountains. We pulled in for a late lunch and refreshments and we’re not disappointed. Effie and George the owners were very pleasant, Effie explained the specials of the day, all home made by her. We went for stuffed aubergine, peppers and tomatoes, absolutely delicious. And to drink the home made lemonade, divine. To add to the food and drink the view across the valley and hills is magnificent. If you pass by then worth dropping in.

This place is a little hidden gem for the area. We have a rental in Mitakata and its just up from us so really handy for our guests. Efi is so sweet and very welcoming. She greets you will a lovely smile and her English is excellent! There is a little shop inside selling all kinds of souvenirs and trinkets for you to buy, local honey and wine too. Lots to see. The view is beautiful as well. I would recommend this place while you visit. Don't drive past, stop and take a seat.

Beautiful little restaurant and shop, the menu has many choices either for breakfast (many kinds of eggs, yogurt, cakes) and lunch/dinner (all traditional dishes). Also the dessert menu has many options. We got zucchini balls, moussaka and their delicious homemade bread with eggplant salad. As dessert we got Greek yogurt with nuts and honey, everything was delicious! Definitely a must in your trip in Kefalonia!
