Arolithos Restaurant - Cafe — Restaurant in Athens

We have visited Arolithos many times as it is close to our house and the environment is cozy. Unfortunately, our last visit was not pleasant as the previous ones. Regarding food, we ordered a lot of dishes as we where a group of 6, but nothing tasted as it used to.. Music was extremely loud. We could barely hear one another. Avoid seating close to the speakers if you are more than two-three people. You will not be able to talk easily to each other if you are a larger group. The brunette waitress was ironic to us twice, especially when we asked if they can lower the music a bit. Neither food or service was the same as before. Three stars only because of the blonde waitress who is always kind and helpful. Otherwise this experience would be a one. Amazing food and service. I have celiac disease and medically require a gluten free diet. When I told the waiter this, they brought the chef to speak with me who was extremely kind, walked me through the menu and suggesting various modifications to dishes so I could eat them. i had chicken with potatoes which was so delicious. Then, unexpectedly, he brought me out a special-made salad for me to eat because he was concerned my main course would take too long (and my friends were eating other appetisers that I couldn’t have). I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!! Amazing food and drink, great service, and welcoming environment! It is MORE than evident that so much thought and care has gone into the design and recipe of each dish. The menu is a well curated list of traditional Greek dishes with a modern twist. The music is always on point, and the staff are engaging and helpful. Come in solo, or with a crowd; either way you are bound to enjoy yourself. Love this place, will come back time...
