Review for the guys who straight-up rescued Greek cuisine (and my sanity):
Walked in like a traveler — tired, heading to the hotel, just hoping to eat without theater, hidden charges, or gastronomic marketing campaigns.
And what did I find?
Portions like Alexander the Great showed up with his cavalry and said, “feed every last one of us.”
Prices like rain in Athens in August — barely noticeable.
No foams. No “experiences.” No food arranged like a sculpture but tasting like existential crisis.
Just real Greek food: — hot, — filling, — honest, — and made with a soul that hasn’t been rented out to Instagram influencers.
You pulled me back from the edge of gastronomic burnout. You reminded me that Greek food isn’t supposed to be a photoshoot — it’s supposed to be joy.
And yeah — there’s always that one guy. Calm, speaks English, and sees the confusion in your eyes before you even open your mouth. He kindly explains that you don’t need to order tzatziki separately, because it already comes with the meat. That’s not service. That’s emotional rescue.
For all this — — an empty plate, — a toast that shouldn’t appear on the bill, — and a recommendation to every weary traveler who’s tired of paying €3.50 for water and €40...
Read moreQuite good taverna that started as a souvlaki and gyro place and has enriched the menu with a variety of homemade dishes prepared early in the day, such as mousaka, etc. They also prepare a variety of grilled dishes and contemporary Greek fast food, such as a type of club sandwich made with pita breads, etc. Their grilled 'stable steak' was big enough to feed more than 2 people, juicy, tender and perfectly seasoned. General warning: all their portions are huge; take that into consideration before you order. Although they're generally fast in service, it's a good idea to phone in your order if you need it prepared by the time you get there. They also deliver. 18/02/20: An extra star added for the new grilled dishes and for the owner's patience with crazy customers who do not know the difference between different cuts of meat, their colour, or "well done" and "rare" meat. I've no idea who the little lady with the personal vendetta is, opening up fake profiles and having her friends give 1-star reviews, but they're all blatant lies. If you don't believe me, just come by...
