IASMOS bar is definitely the best place on Chios Island. I've been here for three weeks and came here almost every night. here is why:
the view: from iasmos bar you have a perfect view over the ocean, which is especially recommendable during sundown and to watch the small boats crossing. when it is dark you can see the lights of surrounding villages and those over in Turkey, but also the clear starlit sky.
the drinks: there is a wide range of great cocktails and unlike a lot of other bars here they use quality liquor and juices - and they know what they are doing. I was quite surprised to find such a professional bar at this not-so-urban place. every drink is served with nuts and popcorn, potato chips or vegetables with salt and vinegar. also: hausbrandt coffee, drink it iced!
the music: I am allergic to places that play top hit radios or prefixed bar jazz playlists. the songs at iasmos are very well chosen: from Jazz to alternative, and even the Greek Nights are not as cheesy as you probably would suspect them to be.
the looks: iasmos bar has a great atmosphere, it is decorated very nicely - not traditionally greek but also not pushingly hip. there are small candles hanging in the trees, the colors of the chairs and tables are fresh but not aggressive, and everything blends in perfectly with the surrounding trees and plants.
the people: gogo and eleytheria are the perfect team, two young women that manage this bar in a very professional manner, but always with enough time to chat for a few minutes.
for people (like me) that get nervous without being online - they also have WIFI...
