NOT (European) TOURIST FRIENDLY !

Very beautiful place, good food. That's it for the positive side of our experience!

It took more than one hour to get one plate of linguine with shrimps. The water (served in a bottle) as well as the carafe of white wine was not cold at all (nearly warm). Other tables which arrived after us ordered the same but were served before (obviously they were Greek).

Moreover, there were lots of mistakes in the bill. And top of all this, after spending 55€, no possibility to sit/lie on the beach : there were at least 4 sunbeds free but these were RESERVED (to Greeks perhaps).

To Mister Manager :

We have been visiting your wonderful island since 17 days now and are really enjoying the hospitality of the local people. It's the first time we've been feeling such a denial as tourist. After having shared with you our state of mind, your only reply was "it's a bad day" and you tried to put the blame on the only so kind and smiling young waitress! Could we suggest you to take some Managing courses or, if you don't like tourists that way,...

Bisher unsere schlechteste Erfahrung in Chios zum Thema Essen und Service. Es hat damit angefangen, dass die Bedienung ein schlecht zu verstehendes Englisch gesprochen hat und wir nachfragen mussten. Wobei das kein Problem ist, aber in Frage zu stellen, ob wir kein Englisch verstehen, fand ich schon unverschämt. Es geht mit dem Essen und Trinken weiter. Wir hatten einen halben Liter Weißwein bestellt und auch bekommen. Leider war dieser unangenehm warm. Als ein anderer Kellner mit Essen gekommen war, habe ich ihn darüber informiert. Er wollte Eis bringen, was ich abgelehnt habe. Er meinte, dass er noch kälteren Wein hätte und uns diesen bringen wird. Leider ist der Wein nicht wieder gekommen und eine Bedienung zum nachfragen war auch nicht zu sehen. Bein bezahlen habe ich die Kellnerin über die Weinsituation informiert und mitgeteilt, dass ich nicht bereit bin dafür zu bezahlen. Reaktion war, dass wir doch schon getrunken hätten und das kommt dann nicht in Frage. Sie ist dann nochmal los und hat festgestellt, dass der Kellner den Wein in die Tiefkühltruhe gestellt hat, dann gegangen ist und niemanden informiert. Bezahlen musste ich dennoch und selbstverständlich keine Entschuldigung oder dergleichen. Der Wein ist ja jetzt kalt da und dann ist das doch gut.

Beim Essen war es nicht besser. Ich hatte einen Chickensalat. Auf den ersten Blick sah der auch gut aus. Doch später ist da einfach kleine Scharbe hervorgekrochen gekommen. Mir ist es gelungen, dieses Tier mit dem Weinglas einzufangen. Auch ist der Salat in Dressing ertrunken. Über beides habe ich die Kellnerin informiert. Reaktion auf das Tier war: "Wirklich?" Mehr ist dazu nicht gekommen. Beim Dressing, kam auch keine adäquate Reaktion. Lediglich eine süffisante Frage, ob ich das auch nicht bezahlen will. Im Ganzen keine kundenorientierte Reaktion, Entschuldigung oder irgendetwas.

Nice beachside spot in Volissos with a relaxed vibe and friendly service. The location is decent—right on the quieter side of the island (unless they have a blasting through the night party). The menu focuses on fresh seafood and local dishes. I tried the sardines wrapped in grape vine leaves—an interesting idea, but personally wouldn’t order it again. My personal favourites were the grilled calamari and the fish with horta—both fresh and well-prepared. Overall, a good option for dinner after a day...
