I can’t describe how awesome this place is.
A quiet little town with a small square, and the best food I’ve had in a long time.
We have a variety of foods from lamb, chicken, and pork souvlakia, which were fresh and super tasty.
The horiatiki salad was huge and its ingredients might as well have just been picked and put onto a plate. Perfectly refreshing for a hot night.
The home made lemonade was beautiful. But even more impressive is the owner’s Ravani (a type of semolina cake) was incredible.
The highlight of the evening was our young waiter Spiros. We were so impressed by his perfect spoken English, and the pride he had in his mother and father’s business, and more importantly the food they bring to the table. I felt so proud of him; I imagine his parents are even more so.
Looking forward to our visits in...
Read moreWe spent a couple of days in Delphi and stumbled upon this amazing little restaurant in Christos! The food was excellent—homemade, family-style cooking, with the warmth of small-town hospitality in the air. We sat outside and struck up a conversation with a local who had moved back from the US. He shared how wonderful it was to return to his hometown. If locals come, they must be doing something right! We eat, chatted and just watch a sudden rain fall while we sat outside. We ordered several dishes just because we wanted to try everything. The mom, father, and son were all so friendly and lovely, as most people are in Greece. The mother who is the chef even went the extra mile and shared recipes with my wife, who was over the moon! We’ll definitely visit again when we’re in Delphi! Love, love, LOVE...
Read moreMonday July 6th 2020, we (= my son + his girlfriend Elien + I) have visited the pub-restaurant Peinakothiki in Chrisso. Elien got a large portion of fresh Greek salad (with plenty of feta). My son and I got souvlaki (each 2 pieces) with french fries and bread. It all tasted very well. We also drunk 3 small bottles of sparkling water. Guess what we have paid ! A. 40 or more, B. 30 - 39.9, C. Less than 30. Answer: see the bill. Pitty that the young son had to work so hard, even after 10 p.m. And he was so so glad when I told him he could keep the change...
