We spent the day at Island Bar today from 12-6. After 3 hrs driving to get here we were excited because of how beautiful the island is. Then we came to this place, cos the only sunbeds were here. The first encounter we got was a young waitress girl, that told us it’s €15 for a set of sunbeds & we must only eat at their restaurant & that is the condition of the restaurant, otherwise we can leave. Then She literally grabbed our coffee cups we came with, & told us they aren’t allowed. A bit confused with all the rules, we asked a few questions & she was rude & arrogant & lacked diplomacy & tact. Please use one of the boys instead of her. The guys were kind & helpful. She was rude & and didn’t explain to us the rules properly. I was so annoyed how rude she was, it ruined my start of my holiday vacation. Then we had sun all day on our sunbeds, so what’s the point if we are baking. We were told not to move the heavy sunbeds, so we roasted & got no rest or peace all day.
The beach today catered to young families with apparently screaming kids. The entire day, all we heard were screaming crying kids & parents screaming back. It’s was quite horrific. In a packed out area, the screeching screams echoed, and I literally had a headache. These parents must be deaf or just not give a damn.
Then came lunchtime. My husband obeyed the rules against my wishes, and we had lunch at the restaurant. We ordered fish & calamari, entree & salad. Everything was very poor quality. The calamari was so hard, I could hardly chew it. Salad was average, the zucchini flowers were just ok. Overall very expensive for crappy food, rude service & a horrible place to visit. You can’t make up rules just to monotonise your customers. The music was just loud & awful, and not suitable. It was my birthday, & just ruined my entire day. We definitely won’t come back to...
Read moreIt is nice to see modern initiatives taking place in picturesque places such as Trizonia. It is, however, doubly sad to see the familiar greed overtaking another beautiful locale by storm. My boyfriend and I, visiting the island for the first time, were eager to explore the area and to our dismay this establishment ruined our stay. The sunbeds were supposedly all "reserved" and if we wanted to book one it would cost a whopping 10€ for a set of sunbeds. The alternative was a 20€ set of sunbeds located at a slightly more shaded place or the regular tables at no cost. We witnessed that several of the sunbeds were not occupied at all throughout the day, let alone the more expensive ones. This isn't Mykonos or Santorini. There is a reason people wish to come to Trizonia and that is not to experience that sort of pricing. The menu is equally disparaging. 12€ for a coffee and a not-homemade iced tea. Are we being serious here? Also, must I be in a position to ask for the receipt to be on my table the moment I wish to pay, or should the waiter/-ess have brought it along with my order? I will let you guess what happened. Owners of such places need to understand that profit comes with professionalism, not cheap tactics. Speaking to some locals, I found out that that before 2015, when this place officially opened, things used to be better. People could stay on the beach for free and use public umbrellas for free. It's...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant with my family — a group of seven — during our holiday on the beautiful island of Trizonia. We ordered traditional Greek dishes, expecting authentic flavors and Greek hospitality.
Unfortunately, the experience was beyond disappointing. The fish we were served was barely cooked and had a terrible, almost rotten taste — completely inedible. When we politely complained, the owner came over, not to apologize, but to argue with us aggressively and insult us without reason.
He made incredibly disrespectful remarks, such as “Maybe you forgot your medication, that’s why you’re complaining so much.” This behavior was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
At one point, we were even shown the kitchen — and what we saw was shocking. Everything was dirty and poorly maintained. The oil they used was clearly old and filthy. It was obvious that hygiene and food safety were not a priority in this place.
To make matters worse, we ended up paying over €250 for this horrible experience. Absolutely disrespectful, unhygienic, and outrageous. It’s a real shame, because Trizonia is a beautiful island — but this kind of behavior and environment reflects very badly on the hospitality...
