Alekos — Restaurant in Filiates Municipality

What a bitter disappointment! We had been recommended by Dutch friends to try out this restaurant but we found the service brusque to the point of unfriendliness. The moussaka ordered by my husband was edible but nothing special, the Greek salad likewise and the red mullet I ordered - 6 tiny fish literally skin and bone that I had to eat with my glasses on in order to avoid all the bones. The lemon was so dry I was unable to squeeze it myself. With a litre of tepid white wine and a bottle of water, our bill came to 31 euros. We should have gone to the fish festival instead - at least I wouldn't have left hungry! The one star awarded was for the one pleasant waiter who gave us some mosquito repellant to drive away all...

Okay half of the food that did came was fairly okay but the other half was very bad (not cooked properly. watery, covered in coal dust and drown in cheap balsamic junk) or did not came at all and the service? Mhaw was not part of the job description at the time of hiring this bad example of a waiter and some of his colleagues. The place has the advantage to be the first one in the harbour and it looks attractive and atmospheric but in my opinion there are much better options in this lovely...

Nice variety of really fresh fish, at affordable prices, simply but excellently cooked. We have tried the fried cod (best I have ever had), grilled red porgy (great) and fried anchovies (amazing), together with some green salad (xorta - great) and some cold beers.
