Akti Café bar — Restaurant in Icaria Municipality

Honestly, this is my favorite spot in Ikaria. Akti sits at the very top of Agios Kyrikos. The view is second to none and the light breezes are stuff dreams are made of. Marcia, Thea, Niki and Stefani are just the loveliest family. They are the epitome of Greek hospitality. Akti reminds me of the tv show Cheers. They know you, they remember you and they are happy to see you. Now for the food. Light eats, great club sandwich, great toast (the Greek version of course), waffles that make your mouth water and a yogurt fruit bowl with that liquid gold, Ikaria honey. Their coffee and drinks are delicious. I can sit here for hours each day. This is always my first and last stop each day on my yearly trips to the island. Akti is a very special place. I highly recommend to anyone who visits Agios Kyrikos. A true family business with the kindest, sweetest people. I forgot to mention I also rent my car from them as well each year! Dimitri and Margarita meet us at the airport each summer with our cars and help us get settled. The cars are new and perfect for the driving on...

The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and vibrant whether you’re stopping in for a quiet coffee during the day or cocktails with friends at night.

The coffee is rich and perfectly brewed, and the cocktails are creative, refreshing, and crafted with care. Do yourself a favor, if you make it to Ikaria and try the best Mojito…on Earth. You can thank me later, because you’ll be thanking the bartender, Dimitri, immediately.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the energy. The staff treat you like family, the music is always on point, and the view/setting makes you feel like you’re in on a local secret.
