Hamodrakas - Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Kalamaria Municipality

Beautiful spot but it seems they try to scam you when ordering seafood by kilo! I have read some negative 1 star reviews here after visiting (wish I had read them before I go) and I totally agree with them! That's exactly what happened to us as well. We ordered 500 grams of fresh fried kalamari and what arrived on our table was a tiny small grilled kalamari that hardly weighted 200 grams (it was so obvious, they didnt even try to at least serve us a 400 grams kalamari that would probably go unnoticed)!! When we mentioned it to the waiter she tried to convince us it's what we ordered!!! We reached a point that we were really upset with this and had to actually go with the kitchen and ask the cook to weight a new kalamari in front of us and cook it again!! Of course the amount of the fried kalamari was so much more than the one the waiter brought us at first! It seems they keep doing that over and over again to customers and if they get away with it that's money in their pockets! I wouldn't go back and do not recommend it of course! It's a shame as it is a beautiful traditional Greek seafood taverna and they are ruining it with...

Good food, Bad service

We had reservations but still had to wait a bit to have our table ready. This was OK during peek time. We sat and ordered drinks, water and a tzatziki salad. We got the water and after about 15 min we got ghe different type of ouzo from what we ordered, so we had to return it. Another 5 min waiting.

After about 10-15 minutes we got our salad, and immediately ordered the main dishes (Salmon and grilled squid).

And we started to wait, other people arrived and were placed at their tables, ordered and received food. Gor us, nothing. After about an hour of waiting, I asked the manager if there was something wrong with our order, as an hour is too long to wait for grilled sea food. After assuring us that it is coming, the food arrived about 10 min later. Our mood was already ruined, and the food that was very tasty indeed, did nothing to make us feel better. Paid the check, left, never to return again.

My recomendation: The food was really good. The place is nice, by the sea. The service needs to improve.

We were too hungry to take...

We had lunch at this taverna and ordered a tsipoura fish, listed at 79€ per kilo. They showed us the fish before cooking, mentioned it was the last one and that it was small — which it clearly was. However, when the bill came, they charged us 74€, which means they billed us for almost 1kg of fish. Once cooked, it was hardly around 300g on the plate. It felt very unfair and like we were overcharged for something much smaller than what was claimed. When we asked why they charged us 1kg when the fish was hardly 500g (raw) they didn't have an explanation, just said that it was exactly kilo and that we were charged fairly. Please check the image and tell me if this would come out of 1kg raw fish? On top of that, the service was very slow.
