Great sandy beach, good premium sunbeds and terrible, terrible customer service. The waiters are trying to do their job as good as they can, but the problem comes from the people who are in charge of seating. Today we were among the first people at the beach, we came so early that we even had to wait for them to open the front entrance. A young gentlamen with blond hair was supposed to find and show us the "appropriate" sundbeads. We told him we want to be away from the central area with the louder music and be seated somewhere towards the end of the beach bar, our other request was a first line umbrella. He said that that's "impossible" and only families are allowed on the first line. This was a very big surprise for us, because the day before we were at the same beach bar and we had a first line umbrella without any issues and complications. When I told him that, he arrogantly asked if I had bought the umbrella! I dont think this Is the proper way to treat a potential client. If you want to have a more premium selection of customers on the first line just increase the minimum consumption from €10 to €15 per person. Telling people, they cant be on the first line, because they dont have two kids with them, even though they came before the beach bar even opened is utterly ridiculous! I was really impressed by this beach bar yesterday and thought this would be one our most visited places, but boy was I wrong. I even thought it's better than Cabana (the white bear bar next to it), but I was again wrong. At least they are being...
Read moreReservations are mandatory, so we were turned away the day before because we didn’t have one. Today, although I reserved two sets of sunbeds for four people, we were given only two loungers and two uncomfortable plastic chairs. The chairs are not suitable for spending the day – two of us basically had nowhere to relax or lie down. For sunbeds in the third row, there is a minimum spend of €30 per person, which would be understandable if the service matched the price – but it didn’t.
The food was especially disappointing. We had pasta with shrimp and asparagus, which was: • unsalted, • completely flavorless, • dry, and the portion was very small. We paid €17 for that dish – far too much for what we got. Later, we ordered fries, which came cold, unsalted, and with just a tiny bit of sauce.
Half a liter of water costs €2, which further reflects the poor value for money.
Also, the umbrellas are fixed and not adjustable, so two out of four of us were constantly exposed to direct sun, which is neither comfortable nor safe for a full day at the beach.
To be fair, the beach and the sea are beautiful, but that’s thanks to nature – not the beach bar itself.
Unfortunately, everything else – the organization, service, comfort, and food – was far below expectations. I wouldn’t return or recommend it.
We needed to pay Wi-Fi 1€ per person, despite 120€ spent throu whole day.
There are much better beach bars in the Pefkochori area – definitely worth...
Read moreThe beach bar looks great, and takes advantage of the great view from the beach (so the beach by itself is 5 star rather than the bar itself, though the beach bar itself looks good as well).
The problem is that the business strategy of this bar is to scam its customers. You can see people arguing with the staff all day because they say one thing over phone and another when you’re there. They rip off people by giving them less sunbeds and keeping the same minimum spend for every person, even if they are just given a chair.
It’s sad because some (key word “some”) of the staff do their job well, and they have to face complaints by the customers all day based on what the management decides. From a Mediterranean's point of view, the food is average at best, there are many beach bars nearby with better quality of food (miles ahead if I have to be honest).
This place can easily have a 5-star rating, but when the priority of the business is to take advantage of people and trying to ruin their day from the beginning over giving them a genuine service, you wouldn’t even be able to make 4 stars, and with good reason, it does not.
I’m unaware of whether they do this only to foreigners, but it does seem like the foreign people booking the beds make it clear that they’ve agreed to more beds when...
