Tavern "To Filaraki" — Restaurant in Kavala Municipality

The food is great and there are quite a lot of options to choose from. The waiters are also very friendly and helpful. The menu comes in many languages: Greek, English, Romanian, Bulgarian and I believe also German. The translations on the Romanian menu are very good, they don’t look like they were translated with Google Translate, which is great. :D I really liked their appetizers, especially the fried zucchini with tzatziki. They also have two types of soups: chicken and fish and the people at my table really liked the fish soup. I think the only downside is that the place is righ near the main road so you always hear the cars passing by and it can get pretty hot. They do have some ceiling fans, but they don’t help a lot. All in all, this place is great and the prices are very affordable (we paid around 70€ for 4 people and we had appetizers, main course and second course and we also took the leftover food to go because the portions were big and we couldn’t eat it all there, so you could say that we paid 70€ for both lunch and dinner 😅). P.S. Make sure to call in advance and make a reservation, because you might not catch a vacant...

It is the best in Palio and around! We love it. The food is always delicious and the "fresh fish" better than other restaurants in town. They speak Greek and sometimes some English. All dishes have been delicious so far. The handmade potatoes are the best, depending on who delievers. From time to time there is a small dessert plate with the bill, which has always been very good. For me, the Filaraki has now overtaken all other restaurants in town in terms of performance. We appreciate that the prices in 2024 are still good. You have the best small olives. They are so tasty. There is some parking but the restaurant is popular and gets very busy at times. When exiting onto the main road you have to be careful because you can't see any cars from the left and unfortunately they always drive too fast. There are many accidents these...

Couldn’t wait for our second time to eat here and hopefully place a great review. Unfortunatelly, this is not possible due to the terrible way that the old waiters treated me. I arrived there with my kid, thinking they might recognize us from the other day that we had lunch there and the old waiters started yelling that this is a table for 4, what just one?! ( it was a table with 3 chairs ). Their english is not that good and I tried explaining again that my husband will arrive and we will be 2+1 but he kept yelling, no go away, this is for 4 ( is like we were begging, not paying customers). 2 days ago, when the place wasn’t fully packed, they knew how to talk nicely. The food is good but they didn’t deserve the tip from the first day. Still can’t figure out why they couldn’t refuse in a nice way. So there are several places that I would recommend...
