We had almost given up hope of finding a real classic Greek taverna, when we stumbled upon this hidden jewel. The homemade feta was so divine it gave me goosebumps, as if each crumb whispered ancient secrets. The fried tomato balls? So delicious that Leonidas himself would rise from the grave, swim headless to Kythnos, and demand a plate. But the true star of the night was the bifteki.... juicy, tender, melting in the mouth. The charcoal-kissed flavour bordered on the supernatural; surely some culinary demigod had touched that grill. Then came the steak: crispy, flavourful, and so perfect it made me want to fast for the rest of my life just to preserve the memory. If they had served this food to Byzantine soldiers, Constantinople would still stand today, unshaken and unbroken. The Papou manning the grill was a master.. no, a maestro wielding his tongs like a conductor’s baton, orchestrating a meaty symphony under the warm Aegean sky. Watching him cook was like watching Mozart compose or Beethoven perform—only with more olive oil and fewer wigs. We...
Read moreIt's a traditional Greek taverna. They do not accept reservations. They have local dishes and their ingredients are top quality. Staff is very friendly and will do anything possible to serve you. We tried enough dishes to understand that taste can be found in all their dishes. Prices are perfect. I would dare to say that it is the most value for money restaurant in Kythnos. Definitely a "must try" place
Recommended dishes : Sfouggata (local cheese balls), tomato-keftes, lamb, rooster and chops
taking into consideration the COVID effect globally, I think I should mention that all waiters, even the cooks that are working over the hot BBQ were wearing full masks. When I say full masks, I am not talking about the mini masks that most HORECA employees are wearing. I mean the proper masks. This should be a shout-out for the restaurant in order to give the credibility for their efforts to keep...
Read moreWe visited the restaurant on Sunday, 10/8/2025, at noon. The tables were set up in the restaurant's yard/veranda, and we easily found a place to sit. The restaurant was not full at that time, but the two people serving took about 20 minutes to bring us plates, cutlery, bread, and water, and another 15 minutes to take our order. We ordered a Greek (choriatiki) salad, sfouggato (which are traditional local cheese fritters), beef patties, chicken chops, and pasta with minced beef. The chicken chops were only three, tasteless, and dried out from being overcooked. The beef patty was not juicy at all and had a strange taste, while the pasta was overcooked with a decent-tasting minced meat sauce. Not...
