Χασαποταβέρνα 'Ο Θανάσης' — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

We visited this restaurant after several attempts and finally managed to book a table. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectations, especially considering the high average rating of 4.9. It's worth noting that many of these reviews appear to be written by foreign tourists who may not be familiar with what to expect or comparing it from similar restaurants in the area or whole Greece. The service was indeed very polite and attentive, which is typical of a family-run establishment. However, the staff struggled to manage the large number of tables, resulting in a somewhat chaotic experience. Food was served quickly, likely because most dishes are pre-prepared. This, however, proved to be a drawback: the skewered items we tried—kokoretsi, kontosouvli, and frigadeli—were unfortunately dry and overcooked. Additionally, some important details were overlooked. For example, we were served greens without any olive oil, which is a basic expectation in Greek cuisine. Portion sizes were also disappointing and did not justify the prices. An amazing place out in the country ( that's how it feels )to enjoy REAL delicious food!

If your sick of average plastic tasting food, and you want to bring back life to your taste buds, well....this is the place you MUST visit.

Even the vegetables are freshly grown and taste amazing.

What can I say when for the first time I tasted Frigadelaia (I think that's what it's called...:-) or those juicy Paidakia (lamb cutlets) wow!

I won't say anything else because I will spoil it for you all. Just an amazing well hidden little gem.
