Stopped here for lunch in the main restaurant area. They have a drinks / bar bit if you want to chill out with just a drink and then a main restaurant adjacent to it for eating. Ordered the greek salad and shrimp (prawn) saganaki to share for starter…. Just WOW! The prawns didn’t even need to be peeled as soon as you touched them they fell out their shells, so tasty, juicy and fresh and no “fishy sea food taste” that you sometimes get with prawns, melt in the mouth! Had red snapper to share for mains which was equally as good, really tasty and everything cooked perfect.
On a side note, we went back later on in the day for 2 Aperol spritz for €7 each. Cant argue with that for restaurant price, pay more back home in the UK easily! AND …. Propper nice aperol spritz, not shy on the...
Read moreOne of the worst places I have visited the past few days in this amazing island Lefkada. The food is average, but the attitude and the atmosphere of the restaurant is horrible. I ordered a white frappe they gave me coffe with a lot of water, ice and a splash of milk just to taste and can say there is some milk. The servers and bar attenders were rude and argue with me when I asked for another frappe to be prepared as it should be. Also I order wine and it was different from the first house wine I had. On top of that there is no service at the beach from the restaurant you have to go to the bar to get anything from there and of course to see how all the staff is watching their mobile phones and smoking cigarettes. Read moreI've spent many pounds and hours in Greek tavernas all over the mainland and islands: and been blessed to know a family member who is an exceptional cook.
This is Greek food at its simplest and best: a small menu perfectly delivered.
I recommend the stuffed peppers and aubergine starters. The salads are generous and crispy fresh, mains I had the vegetarian moussaka (bechamel topping just right with texture, flavour and seasoning), sardines and veal in tomato sauce over three visits.
I'd prefer the meat dishes to be served without rice, chips or pasta and with local vegetables but it is standard practice in Greece to serve big and filling plates.
