We were excited to visit this sunset bar in Lefkada, simply because it’s the only “decent” one in the area we found - but what we got was three hours of being sidelined, ignored, and made to feel unwelcome.
As a young gay couple, we don’t always fit the mould for these bars and clubs, especially outside of super inclusive islands in Europe like Mykonos, Ibiza or Hvar. From the moment we walked in and the front of house guys looked us up and down, it was clear we were an afterthought. While plenty of couples and groups of girls waltzed in after us and got prime sunset-facing tables, we were led to a sit on some stone steps in the back - no view, no table, just concrete stairs and a speaker blaring music right into our ears.
We told two front of house guys that we planned to order dinner and cocktails and politely asked to be moved if a sunset-view table opened up. They smiled, nodded, and then completely ignored us for the next few hours. No follow-up. No care. Nothing. Our food? Air-fried frozen stuff - edible but disappointing. The sunset we came for? Blocked by a bush and the backs of guests walking around and posing for pictures. We left after one drink, disappointed, frustrated and ultimately just upset.
The most jarring part was watching the manager, clearly the man in charge, repeatedly walk past us, scowling at the waiters and fawning over groups of glam girls walking in to give them the best seats in the house. The funniest part? The majority of these groups and couples ordered only one drink and no food. So we were sat like idiots at the back with our table full of food and drinks - watching them all have a ball and take the best pictures and videos of the sunset. For context, usually these sunset bars and restaurants in Greece have a minimum spend for the best seats in the house - but here, they only care how you look, not how much you spend. Not once did the manager check in with us, even as we sat clearly unimpressed, uncomfortable and locking eyes in hopes he’d show some compassion.
Bottom line? If you’re a straight couple or part of a stunning group of girls, you’ll probably be ushered to the front and treated well by the group of guys who manage this place. If you’re not? Expect a side of disappointment with your sunset cocktail.
Again, this is the only decent sunset bar in the area, which is probably why it’s rated so highly. There’s no other bars to compare it to. I sincerely hope a competitor sets up shop nearby and forces FLY ME management and front of house staff to be a little more kinder to guests in order to...
Read more2025 update: service kinda annoying, it feels like a scripted theatre. Not authentic at all. Most are like NPCs, they just run the script per each customer.
Went there for a desert. it was super sugary. Service asked how was it, politely answered it's not edible cuz it's only sugar with something. Nothing happened.
The place lost the vibe. We got engaged there in 2021. It used to be awesome place. The times when they were even doing breakfast even though there were not many people there during the early hours. We came each year again to visit and it's getting worse every year. The money machine for tourists that post spam to Instagram.
This was our last visit, not worth the money. Any traditional tavern/bar in Lefkada is better for half the price.
Overall not bad. A bit pricy but adequate to the vibe. But what we and other customers did not really like was that they try to squash you to little tables. And they're able to squash you so much that your butt touches other customer's butt. Also, when people left around 10pm and they had like 20 % occupancy, we moved a little table closer to us so we could use it as well in order to have more space (those tables have 30cm diameter). But the waitress come few minutes later and told us we cannot move tables because her boss says so. That was ridiculous. They don't really seat you comfortably and you can't help yourself either. Usually the food is great but Fish & Chips is not recommended. It's rather a food of small fried fish fillets that reminded me those frozen ones they made in my primary school. The fish is in breadcrumbs and not batter and overall have nothing in common with Fish & Chips. The apple tart was fabulous and Vardea white wine...
Read moreWe’ve been visiting Lefkada for four years, and Fly Me Sun & Stars Bar used to be one of our favorite spots. We knew they don’t take reservations and operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so we always came directly. Unfortunately, service has declined in the last two years.
This year, we went twice. The first time, we waited over an hour despite being told 20–40 minutes. When I politely asked for an update, the host reacted rudely. Once seated, our waitress Maria was amazing — she noticed our drinks hadn’t arrived, found out the order was lost, reordered, and even brought us complimentary shots.
The second visit was smoother thanks to a reservation, but we were still seated at a tiny table despite saying we wanted to eat. Another waitress kindly moved us, but again drinks were delayed, and one was accidentally spilled on me without being replaced (though it was on the bill until we asked to remove it).
The view is beautiful and the bao was incredibly good, but other food was just average. I’d suggest seating guests who only plan to have drinks at the small tables, and those who want to eat at proper dining tables from the start. It would improve the experience for everyone.
It’s sad to see a place we loved lose some of its charm, but I hope management addresses these issues, as the location has great potential. The photos are from past years when we felt amazing and wanted to capture the moment. This year, I realized we didn’t take a single photo, simply because we felt disappointed most...
