I can't believe how much this restaurant disappointed me. I barely refrained myself from rating it with 2 stars. The view is amazing but the food is below average.
Let's take it from the beginning. It's late September and even now you can only make a reservation 5-6 days in advance if you want to go there late in the evening - at 19:00 - to see the sunset. I booked for Sunday a table for 2 people and requested that it's a corner table with a view. That means near the balcony, where I can see the sunset. When we got there, they seated us at a table nowhere near the balcony but close to the inside tables... and it was also a table where you could easily pull your chair too much in the back and fall on your back one meter to the lower level. After some complaints we convinced them to give us a table at the very edge of the terrace, which is what we requested.
The weather was not in our favor and it was extremely cloudy... you could not see the sea or the sun, just the lower parts of the island. Yet the person who changed the table said we can enjoy the view from here... I got annoyed and said "What view?! There's only clouds!".
We decided to have the red house wine of their own production, which I can say is a very good wine, not sour at all, with a balanced and easy going taste. It's actually closer to a rose wine.
When it comes to the food, I had the savoro sashimi as a starter. It had a very strong taste of some condiment, possibly saphron though I'm not sure... but I could barely taste anything apart from that condiment. The fish itself had a very mild taste but that's all. I could not taste any other ingredient. Such a dish should not have 90% taste of condiment and 10% fish. My girlfriend had a salad, don't remember its name. It was ok but nothing special, we had much better salads at other restaurants. This one had no dressing, only olive oil and a few condiments, tomatoes were tasteless, but the cheese was ok.
For the mains I had a shrimp saganaki with risotto. The same condiment was used as for the sashimi, and in excess. Once again, I could not taste anything else... the shrimps, the risotto, not even the feta cheese or the tomato sauce, none of them had any taste whatever. The only thing I could taste was that damn condiment. My girlfriend had a piece of seabass with some green vegetables. The seabass was fried, there was barely any taste to it and those vegetables didn't taste well to me. They tasted similar to spinach but they were something else.
For how pretentious this restaurant is supposed to be, it's simply outrageous how the food was prepared. And it's a real shame because the platings were arranged very nice. I'm sorry, but this cook should be ashamed of himself.
The dessert was the only thing that was indeed delicious. It was the ferrero for two, a large ferrero with chocolate mouse inside wrapped in a chocolate crust and some caramelized pieces on the side. It was very good but I have doubts it was prepared by the same cook because I don't see how it's possible to prepare such bad starters/mains and such a good dessert.
Coming back to the service, right before the dessert the weather got really chilly and we kindly requested to move to a table for 2 inside, where it was warm. We were politely refused with the reason that another reservation is supposed to arrive soon, even though we mentioned we will be staying 20 more minutes tops. Of course that table was not occupied before we left and we had to stay in the cold because of their lack of common sense. We were offered blankets but that's not what we requested.
All of the above cost 76€, not worth the price for what was offered. All in all, a bad experience which we will not be repeating. If the cocktails are good, it's worth coming here only to have some drinks while watching the sunset but...
Read moreProbably the worse service in Greece. The view is breathtaking, one of the most beautiful you can find in Lefkada. But the staff is severely unprofessional! Funny when the staff has no idea you work for a food magazine abroad and treat you like s* !
Specifically a blonde girl named Despina, should be fired and get a job in an office where she would not interact with humans. That woman is a greek tragedy!
So one of the things the customers ask the waiters and waitresses to do is to take pictures of them, for obvious reasons. This should be in the job description.
Despina had her very fake smile on when we asked her to take a picture of us, and as soon as we gave her our phone she eye rolled to another waiter showing her annoyance. And when she turned her face to us again she put her fake smile back on. I have NEVER experienced something so rude in my life.
Despina was also annoyed that she had to transfer a plate from the other end of the table where no one was sitting, to the seat where my dad was sitting. We had to point it out to her since she just placed the starters in front of my dad, instead of his plate.
They basically make you feel like they are doing you a favor to serve you, but newsflash, we’re doing you a favor for coming there and giving you our money.
Food: mediocre as hell! in case you have a good palette, the food will definitely not startle you. The only benefit of this place is the view!
If I was the owner I would fire every single one of them, and hire an impeccable team to make this place the thing it deserves to be.
Despina should not be having ANY contact with the customers, she is simply talentless and weak for this position, ruining this place’s reputation. I wonder who hires these people!
I left from there extremely disappointed. I hope you find this helpful, you could just go for a drink. Don’t waste your money! My review will unfortunately be horrible...
Read moreAn incredibly disappointing restaurant experience! We chose this venue to celebrate our 10-year anniversary and had called ahead days in advance to secure a reservation, stressing the significance of the occasion for us. We would have been more than happy to go and pay for it in advance in order to be sure. However, the person answering the phone told us that they would not make a reservation, but not to worry - they would accommodate us for dinner and we would have a great anniversary. We were told to arrive at 18:30. As requested, we arrived promptly at 18:29-18:30, and what we witnessed outside the restaurant was surreal and quite frankly, ridiculous( there were people racing to the entrance). Nevertheless, we arrived at the entrance and spoke to the hostess, reminding her of our conversation with her colleague and again explaining that we had a 10-year anniversary. She simply gestured for us to follow her. However, to our surprise, we were led to a table tucked away in the corner, right next to the road. The view was non-existent, as we were surrounded by other diners' backs on one side and had a view of the restaurant's interior on the other. It was evident that better tables with a view were available, as we had walked past them all to get to our unfortunate spot. Please see my view in the photos. The food itself was rather mediocre and from what I was witnessing the hygiene was rather bad. This special occasion was utterly ruined by our dining experience. I have no intention of returning to this restaurant and cannot, in good conscience, recommend...
