A very good restaurant. Try to position yourselves during seatting at the tables in front of the restaurant main entrance. There is a plastic tent as a divider and a balcony in another level. If you take a seat behind the plastic tent divider or the level then you will not get good service as the people who attend these areas are fewer and the service in general is worse in general. The kitchen is a little slow for example we were done eating and then they remembered oh you have ordered another appetizer and attempted to rush the kitchen to prepare it but we were already done eating some 15 minutes ago so that was meaningless..
I will give a 2,5 stars for the service which was borderline average - bad.
The food was really really good and they a 5 out of 5 stars
The atmosphere we could not enjoy as much as we had to ask for the menues, 10 minutes later we asked for water, 15 minutes later we asked for some bread and to have someone come take our order.. You tend to have higher expectations in terms of service and not to make repeated requests to attract the attention of the service staff.. So a 4 stars for the atmosphere.
The pricing was good for what we ordered. We only wish it would have arrived a little sooner before we were done eating everything else and in a more structured manner ie first the appetizers then the main dishes etc.
People recommended to us this place as a must go to eat place. Our experience was a mixed bag even though the restaurant was not full or understaffed. We will visit sometime again in the future to...
Read moreGreat food! We were greeted with bread with olive oil (very tasty - thought it's for free, since we didn't ask for it; it was brought to our table as soon as we sat down, more on that later). We ordered burgers stuffed with feta cheese (although the cheese didn't taste or have the texture like feta, but more like regular cheese). The burger itself was fantastic! It'd be nice, though, if it was stated in the menu (which could use some improvement) that you get fries, as well. At the end, we received a small bowl of strawberries (of which I forgot to take a photo initially) - probably on the house, since that wasn't on the check. Now, about that bread... well, it was €1.6. Had I not paid by card, I probably wouldn't have bothered to read the note (I usually know how much I have to pay so I know what extra to leave as tip, when I'm paying entirely by cash). That just seems like a shady tactic to me, simply because they don't tell you about it. But then again, as I previously said, the menu could be improved. Oh, they have lots of plants around - mostly spices. That's nice! Also, the view from the terrace is nice. The same can't be said about the noise, however - the place is right near the road, so there's nothing they can do about that. But I wouldn't go there during the day, because cars pass one after another and... well, your lunch...
Read moreMinas was a fantastic place to dine at. My wife and I booked a table for 8:00PM and were let in 15mins prior to order up some food and drinks. I can definitely recommend the spicy feta cheese- it’s got a slight kick but not too overpowering. Pair that with their table loaf and you’re onto a winner! I ordered the swordfish and fries and my wife ordered the orzo and cuttlefish that was cooked in its own ink. The swordfish was brilliant and so was the small portion of fries that came with it. My wife’s inky pasta wasn’t bad either- maybe on the bland side when compared with the swordfish but still a hearty portion to enjoy with a white wine. The sea view is brilliant but due to the location of the taverna, you overlook the main coastal road. If you can look past the busy evening traffic and soak up the views then it is definitely worth a visit. Only downside to the menu was the lack of desserts… I’m not quite sure if they wanted to take it on but even just a small portion of baklava or panna cotta would’ve made for a nice sweet ending. Overall a brilliant family taverna that made us feel very welcome. Do pay...
