Barbounaki | Lemnos — Restaurant in Lemnos Municipality

First of all, multiple of our dishes never got to us. The fried kalamari and 2 sea kritharoto proceeded to never land on out table. That may though have been for the better! A big portion of the food was microwaved (such as the risotto) and made astonishingly bad especially when considering the raw material source of this wonderful island. The waiters had a huge problem holding the plates which indicated that they where microwaved with the plate of serving. A lot of food was sincerely undercooked or made with old oil. The bread was old, dry and the type of crunchy indicating that it has sat there for quite some time. They even failed to make an eatable tzatziki. The view was good although them not placing any type of cooling devices such as fans, made it unbearable to eat and enjoy the view. The waiters weren't up to the task either! With 5 of them standing and talking to each other about how to transport the boiling plate to our table. For the 3 missing portions we only got a "sorry" back after waiting gor about 2 hours for them. Don't go there, you will regret it. There is a huge veriety of restaurants in this island with better food...

Beautiful place and the food was ok, pretty standard for a restaurant that caters fish mostly. I will comment though for the service. They only care about the big spenders, old pensioners, that they cater for, looking for the big tips. We have spent for 2 adults and 1 kid around 160 euros, we were seated and "forgotten" under the rock while the owner and the waiters were running only for the tables with old tourist that were ordering lobsters and bottled wines. The attitude was horrible. Classic wanna be posh restaurant, which in reality used to be a really nice tavern back in the days. We will never go again there. I rather go and spend my money in other taverns and restaurants with an amazing selection of local dishes and with a friendly service, rather to go to restaurant that pretends to be something more than what it really is. Shame for the greek hospitality, and a joke of a service. Very low standards for "a posh restaurant" of it's kind. The only thing it was left for is to enjoy was the rock and the beach that it was...

I want to start of with saying that the food was delicious, even though it was a bit pricey, but a few complications came in our way before our food was delivered. We called the restaurant, around lunch time, to make sure that we had a reserved table for dinner. When we got there, we waited and waited but no one came to show us our table, they even took some other families that arrived after us.After 10 minutes, someone finally decided to offer us a place to eat. Another complain is that even though it wasn't very crowded, they placed us at a table that was very close to the road and pretty far from the other customers. Then everything went smoothly, but of course I'm kinda disappointed with the services...
