This review is split into 2 parts. The food and the service. I start with the very positive stuff, the food. The food was amazing, everything we ate was super tasty, we really enjoyed our meal there. I would recommend to try the fish soup (kakavia) if there is available. The only dish that was not up to the expectations although quite pricey was the sun-dried octopus. Now the negative. Service was below average. It took really long to bring us the wine, some dishes were already served and we did not have wine to accompany them. They also forgot to bring us bread, even though it had been charged and we had to ask for it. Finally, the worst part was when we had to pay and the guy responsible for payments (who was also the one we gave our order) made a mistake and could not perform a split payment. He was very nervous, he speaking loud and everybody was looking at us, in general he lost his composure and calmness which is not good for someone working at a restaurant. I would even say he acted in a non-professional way. I recommended him to relax and reassured him that we would find a solution anyway, so after a while he put himself together and managed to do it. For me it wasn't that bad but our friends don't want to go back there. In my opinion this place would be much much better with the right personnel. Finally, prices are on the high side so this is not a place for the average family to go everyday but I would recommend to go at least once if you're on the island and not on a...

In recent years, I've been very interested in the new tavern-style restaurants that have opened in Greece and try to visit one of them every summer, either on an island or in Athens. Riza was one of the places that caught my eye when I visited Lemnos.

I went there alone and ordered the following: raw anchovies, oysters, Greek wild greens, and grouper with lemon sauce. Nikos, the employee who takes care of the guests, suggested me to drink Malagousia wine with all these dishes. I explained that I'm not a wine connoisseur and needed his advice.

The wild greens with grated tomatoes were much more acidic than it should have been. The grouper with lemon sauce was almost perfect, but I'm not sure it's a dish to be enjoyed on a summer evening. The raw anchovies and oysters were delicious. I wasn't particularly impressed with the accompanying wine, but as I said, I'm not a wine connoisseur.

I left Riza feeling satisfied and happy, but I can't say anything about the place as perfect or magnificent. If you go with more than one person, you'll have the chance to try a lot more. I ordered these items alone. The atmosphere is nice, understated, and simple. I paid around 60 euros per person. Thanks to everyone who...

Luck for me, I unintentionally fell upon this place after google suggested another restaurant and it wasn’t good. The food was absolutely divine: the presentation, the taste, the craft. There is no set menu and changes everyday to ensure freshness. The chef only uses local ingredients and they serve local wines as well as liqueurs. The restaurant is located on a quiet street corner with simple decor. The place gets very busy and doesn’t have a big staff so you’re likely to wait a bit but it’s worth it. **update** I came here a second time and while the food is great, the service isn’t. There’s only on waiter which makes the entire experience a bit horrible when the place gets busy. You’ll find yourself waiting a very long time for ordering your dessert or the check.

This is one of the more upscale restaurants on Limnos—but absolutely worth it. If you’re visiting the island, you have to make a stop here. We started with the most delicious olive bread and the creamiest goat cheese, followed by smoked eggplant with tomato and feta—an exquisite combination. Then came the fried scorpion fish with aioli, and a beautifully steamed amberjack served with saffron sauce, potatoes, and onions. We finished by sharing a fantastic dessert with apricot and goat milk ice cream. Overall, a truly memorable experience with exceptional food. Though it's on the pricier side, we felt it was great value for the quality—we left fully satisfied and impressed.
