We went to Loutraki for a week and got recommendations for dining at Philip's tavern. Although it was close to the accommodation, we found it quite difficult because it was written in Greek. Of course, after looking for a few minutes at where the place might be, we remembered what we learned in high school in math, about Greek letters, and we were able to realize that it was in front of us (it was entertaining). We took a seat at a table on the terrace and a tall, beautiful young lady came to us with a serious voice and guided us on the menu. I ordered something from the menu. At first we weren't very impressed. However, we returned the next day and noticed with interest what the other diners ordered - locals who eat there every day (knowledgeable about the menu). And so we ended up eating some of the best traditional Greek dishes - grilled lamb ribs, freshly fried fish, stuffed vegetables. Tasty salads should not be forgotten. Congratulations to the cooks - skillful, pleasant and beautiful. Of course we accompanied the food with local drinks - beer, wine, ouzo. We talked to the owners - the mother and the two daughters - and so we found out that it is a family business, with tradition. Thank you for your kindness, promptness and very tasty food. It must be said that the prices are more than reasonable. Certainly, if we get to Loutraki - which we want - we will visit you and have a nice dinner at your tavern. With pleasure and respect, Bianca and Sorin...
Read moreThe food was actually good, but the atmosphere and service in the restaurant were without a doubt the worst I've experienced anywhere in Greece in the 30 years I've been vacationing here. Me and my family had the misfortune of this being the first restaurant we visited after we arrived in Loutraki that day. The waiters blatantly ignore you, pretend not to see you when you call them etc. They served my beer in a tiny shot glass with the obvious intention of mocking me, and they just placed the ordered food on the table without a single word. My family and I (including my 73-year-old mother) felt unwelcome and extremely uncomfortable all evening, and we couldn't wait to finish the meal and leave. When I wanted to pay with a VISA card, they "experienced a technical problem with the card reader", so eventually I paid in cash. Fortunately, I know what real Greek hospitality looks like, and the very next day, we had wonderful experiences at other places. I strongly recommend everyone to avoid this disgrace of...
Read moreWe are Loutraki locals, been coming here for years. The son in law has taken over, worst customer service, and even worse attitude, arrogance beyond belief. Our food took an hour, spread over each person getting served separately, and my wife’s dish, a simple souvlaki with soggy chips taking 75 minutes. His response, we have other customers to serve. The kilo of lamb came out as a kilo of lamb chops so now we are paying for the bones, and when we complained, we didn’t see a waiter for the rest of the night. Will never go there again, clearly they don’t realise there are a lot of hard working restaurant owners who respect customers in Loutraki with what is clearly now a lot better food, and don’t serve red wine at 40deg temperature. Avoid this place at all costs - there are a lot of better places on Loutraki. Worse still they keep feeding the stray dogs who roam around you as you are eating and get aggressive when you don’t feed them. A disgusting place that has...
