This place deserves a visit if you are tired of the restaurants down in town and near the monasteries that cater specifically to tour groups (re-heated dishes served instantly and inflated prices). Menu is standard greek dishes but made freshly and in generous portions unlike the ones down in town and it was the best meal we had while in the area. The view is spectacular and well worth the drive up after viewing the sunset at sunset rock. Service was friendly and genuine. This is a place where locals go as well to catch up and have a drink and meal. We didn't see the chained up dogs that other reviews talk about, but if they are there remember that this is rural greece where dogs are not just fashion accessories and are used for hunting, guarding property and scaring off wild boars during the night, therefore it is normal for them to spend some time chained up, that doesn't mean they arent...
Read moreWhat a wonderful, unexpected find up above Meteora. We followed the signs up to the spectacular view which is enjoyed at the Eagles Nest. We ate in the open air covered terrace; enjoying a very large wonderfully fresh Greek salad split between two, with tasty bread, followed by freshly grilled meats served with flavourful rice and chips (French fries). Meteora had been packed with cars, buses and people so it was fantastic to rise above all the clamour and enjoy a restful lunch. The Eagles nest also has a nice indoor seating area for colder months, so well worth the drive up regardless the time of year. I can’t praise this...

The Mousakka was some of the best we’ve had in greece thus far. the stuffed patty was good, definitely above average. fried zucchini was some of the best we’ve ever had. baklava and kaitaifi (?) was next level delicious, but fairly sweet. frappe well made. … and we only spent 42 euros for everything....
