Vlachos Tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of Acharnes

Very popular tavern, especially at peak times (Sundays etc) - you might be overwhelmed! They, themselves though, are never overwhelmed it seems, with super efficient service even when they are completely full. Note that there are no reservations, I arrived at a full tavern and had to be in the lookout for a large enough table to be freed for a few minutes. After that though, it was smooth sailing: the servers bring a huge tray with all the available appetizers, from which you just take whatever you fancy (you can always order more). Orders for mains are taken promptly and food is delivered fast. Unfortunately we were a bit late and they were out of kontosouvli which I was told is probably their best dish, but the provatina (yew/mutton chops), sausage, pork chops were decent. We had lunch at this place a few hours ago.The food was good!On the other hand,the service was very slow.My food along with an appetizer arrived almost half an hour later than my hubby's,which is unacceptable.I am not blaming the waiters, I could see them running all around the place.When we paid our check,the waiter was so busy that he didn't even bother to say Thank you!When I complained about this,he did not even look me in the eye and run away.Too busy to bother!!!!!!Conclusion:If you guys wanna make profit - which makes perfect sense to me - you need to keep your customers happy first and dig in your pockets and get this place...

While I did not eat at this restaurant, I must give this place a 5 star based on kindness and service alone. During a long bike ride, I stopped at this restaurant which is located at the start of the Parnitha park climb. I needed to refill my water bottles and this was the last place opened before getting on the lonely road that leads up to the top of the hill. I asked for a bottle of water and a server brought me a large one, took my €10 bill and then came back with the same bill, handed it back to me and said on the house.
