Taverna Mavromatis — Restaurant in Municipality of Agia Paraskevi

The food was good and well cooked but not something that you haven't already tasted since it is a.traditional greek restaurant.. the service is fast and the waiters are well behaved! I was seated in the yard and not inside.. the decoration isn't unique! But the greatest advantage is the location of the restaurant! Close to the city and the city centre but far enough to give you the impression that you are somewhere else.. great for the summer.. it is always cooler than other places in Athens and the big trees in the yard provide great shadow and comfort in a hot...

We ate here 4 times during our stay in Kos. We loved it!!! From our beautiful location on the beach, the excellent and friendliest staff who couldn't work hard enough to make our evening perfect to the wonderful meals, all tasted fantastic at really reasonable prices. Cannot recommend this place enough. So traditional and homely despite being so busy. No visit to Kos Town would be complete without dining out at Mavromatis. Έχω ξαναπάει. Συνοικιακή παλιά ταβέρνα, με πινελιά για το χειμώνα το τζάκι που σιγοκαίει. Στα θετικά οι μεγάλες μερίδες (πχ 8 κολοκυθοκεφτέδες αντί 4 ή 5 στο 99% των ταβερνών), τα πολύ νόστιμα και καλοψημένα στα κάρβουνα κρέατα, οι φρέσκιες τηγανητές πατάτες (δε δέχομαι ταβέρνα να σου σερβίρει προτηγανισμένες αηδίες). Στα αρνητικά το ότι άργησαν λίγο να φέρουν τα φαγητά (που ήταν ψητά της ώρας), αλλά αποζημιωθήκαμε από το αποτέλεσμα. Επειδή τυγχάνει να είμαι λάτρης των αρνίσιων παϊδακίων κι έχω γίνει κριτής / γευσιγνώστης, θα πω ότι ήταν εξαιρετικά και καλοψημένα στα κάρβουνα. Καμμία μυρωδιά "αρνίλας" (αν δεν είναι από μεγάλο ζώο, δε μυρίζουν). Η εξυπηρέτηση μια χαρά, νορμάλ και το περιβάλλον συμπαθητικό με ρετρό πινελιές, όπως το παλιό ραδιόφωνο εποχής '60 να στέκεται αγέρωχο σε ράφι. Πάρκινγκ του μαγαζιού δεν υπάρχει, αλλά η περιοχή είναι λίιιγο πιο άνετη από άλλα σημεία του Δήμου Αγίας Παρασκευής. Και μόνο για τα φαγητά, θα ξαναπάω σίγουρα.
