After a walk in Kroustas village we found Katerina’s restaurant and we were tempted by the delicious smelling rotisserie souvlas and nice welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted by the lovely owner and chef of 25 years Katerina who made us feel at home right away.
We ordered the lamb chops, boiled goat and bone broth and pork kontosouvli from the Souvla. Everything was incredible. The lamb chops were the BEST we have ever had and we are lamb chop enthusiasts! So tender and melt in the mouth. The boiled goat was insanely delicious with an amazing bone broth, plus the super crispy and delicious pork - all the meats are locally sourced by Katerina and the taste is phenomenal. We were also given free delicious meze whilst waiting for our food of black beans, coleslaw, omelette, liver stifado (wow it was so good!) and potato salad. We were also given an amazing free dessert of chocolate cake and fruit and raki - it was like being spoilt by your family.
Every dish was cooked to perfection with lots of “meraki” what us Greeks call love for what you do. This restaurant is a real authentic restaurant and not a tourist trap, with epic dishes served with real love and warmth from Katerina. We were even given a free goats head from the souvla when we left ! Super hospitality and food!...
Read moreExcellent hospitality, food & wine. Local cuisine from an extensive menu. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Complimentary nibbles and warm bread rolls and then we ordered the garlic pitta, cheese croquettes, I had the lamb from the spit and my partner the chicken souvlaki…. Both served with salad and fried potatoes. We had the white wine - half litre carafe, which was complimented with an extra quarter with fresh fruit. Topped off when we requested the bill with complimentary hot chocolate cake and ice cream. We were stuffed and asked for some of the food to be boxed for take-away…. That’s tomorrow’s lunch sorted! 😀. Well worth a visit! 👍🇬🇷. Oh and the bill only came to €32…. Well worth it with the tip we left for their gracious hospitality. We will return, perhaps next weekend - it’ll be lovely to sit outside during the daytime. Ideally located at the end of the lovely village of Kroustas next...
Read moreWe’ve just been here today and it was the best local tavern in a very small village in the mountains. Thanks to our host from Naiades Marina în Agios Nikolaos, Nikoletta, who recommended us this place after visiting Kritsa. The food was great, we were 11 people so we took a variety of things. The menu has a lot of item to choose from, all homemade. The hospitality went above and beyond, by bringing us for free some starters, and at the end a lot of raki, season fruits and a great ice cream and cake desert (cold and hot) The prices are not big at all and the portions are huge. Would definitely recommend to everybody, it...
