We went to visit Preveli and on our way back, went looking for something to eat/sit for a coffee - a bit off the beaten path and stumbled upon Tasoula's. When we showed up we were greeted with a handshake and "how are you?" by Tasoula. We originally just wanted a place to have coffee, but ended staying for several hours speaking with Tasoula using a translator app and sharing stories back and forth. We ended tasting homemade schnapps, homemade bread, and homegrown vegetables. For desert, we were offered honey plus the comb and of course another schnapps. Stumbling upon Tasoula's little café was a truly a highlight of our visit to Crete. It felt authentic, genuine, and our lovely host made us feel welcome. Our only regret, is that we couldn't stay longer and eat more food. Can highly recommend Tasoula's and it's a place we look forward to coming back to next time we're on the island! Be sure to take your time here and enjoy the full hospitality...

A small but well-kept magical place that certainly deserves a stop. The tavern also offers comfortable rooms and very good food! Manuela, Anna e...
