Moschoudaki Cafe Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Amorgos

We went there on Aug. 14th, on the eve of Holy Mary day. A dancing event had been organized (like every year) a few meters down the small street from the restaurant. The village was crammed with people trying desperately to find a place to sit down and have dinner. We were among the chosen ones and found the last table for two. As for the food …we tried the traditional island goat…cooked 8 hours in the oven to perfection. We also had the Sousoutzakia (home made meatballs) absolutely perfect !. We wish we could have tried some of the other specialties but there is just so much you an eat. Special credit to the family who runs this business with an outstanding sense of hospitality, politeness and kindness. Next time …we’ll try to book a table ahead of a big event...

My partner and I came to Amorgos for a 3 day visit and, on each day, in spite of visiting multiple other eateries, always found ourselves back here. The quality of food is far beyond all else we were able to find on the island. Everything is homemade and by a compassionate, friendly and talented chef. Homemade meaning that each loaf of bread, dish, side-dish, dressing - you name it - is made freshly on the day. The choices vary throughout the week, and most are very well executed takes on classic Greek dishes, while others are well considered fusion dishes of equal, superb quality. We had a beachday in Aegiali and went up to this little villlage where this restaurant is. Unfortunately we had just a little hunger and ordered some refreshing drinks, homemade lemonade, and a aubergine salad. The aubergine salad was insanely good, the best we had in greece ever. The owner was super friendly and we had a little chat with him when he told us they produce everythin by themselves.
