This was me and my best friend’s favourite taverna on Amorgos. The food is delicious and everything is homemade by the family who run it, the view is beautiful, and often there is traditional live music and dancing until late - you can see the events posted to their Instagram taverna_to_panorama ! The family that runs taverna panorama are very special and so happy to tell you about their family history on Amorgos if you ask - inside you will see many old portraits on their walls. It has been a family business for a few generations - the grandfather built the original structure and he still comes down to eat, talk to guests, and sing and tell stories. The grandmother makes the divine fresh cheese on top of the greek salad.
My friend and I ended up becoming very close with the family - when we needed help they immediately helped us as if we were their family too ♥️ we went to the taverna 5 nights while staying in Tholaria and every night tried something different - everything was soooo good!!!! We had many lively conversations with the family and staff. If you want incredible food and to meet the warmest loveliest people - go to...
Read moreAn adorable family tavern at the top of tholaria village. We ve just left from there and only good impressions we have from the people that run the tavern and serve the guests, up to the delight plates we tasted. As the father of the family and owner of the tavern told us, the food that they cook for their family, the same food they serve to their guests. All foods are "homemade" and most of the ingredients (if not all) are from their own productions. The place is cozy, protected from the winds and from some tables you can enjoy the amazing view. It really worth to enjoy at least one of your dinners there, during your visit in Amorgos. I would recommend to choose to get there during your first day, because I am pretty sure that at the end you will decide to get back to try the rest of the...
Read moreA huge disappointment . Maybe because it was early in the season … but nothing panoramic. We booked a table to enjoy the view but instead we were sat in front of a wall and a tiny slice of the view away from the church and sunset . Looking over the roof of the neighbouring house . Food is really mediocre, lacks salt. there is far better on the island . The prices on their listing don’t match the prices of their menu which were higher . It lacked soul . The lighting makes you feel you are in an office or hospital . Not worth it at all The service was cold almost resentful, we were served by a moody teenager who clearly didn’t want to work . Really...
