Avalon Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Argos and Mykines

Thought we’d have some lunch here as the outlook is very good and we’re staying just up the road. It was disappointing. Our order was taken promptly and our drinks were ready quickly. That was where good service stopped. I ordered the Farmers Chicken, my wife ordered chicken pasta (penne) with tomatoes, peppers, mustard and cream sauce. Our food took over 40 mins to arrive - well mine anyway. My wife’s meal came after another 10 minutes with no apology. I’d just about finished my meal which, whilst tasty enough, was cold when it arrived with equal portions of the chicken and cold fries. The sauce on my wife’s penne contained half a cherry tomato, some small flakes of pepper and 6 small pieces of diced chicken. There was very little flavour. The penne was well cooked. When I eventually took it upon myself to approach the bar to pay the bill, I was not asked how the meals were; to be fair the person who took my payment did so a little sheepishly. It second time was there a Wednesday and Sunday food was both time good and the place it nice but the servers are running like chicken with no head one take order and other come serve you they need to have a system this Sunday we were two couple we received our food and my husband received his after we ate it had mix in bill ,they should have section for waiters because they run everywhere, so they forget what customers needs ,to bad i will not go there again .the waiters are not the problem is no organization,no system,whishes you well ,and i saw people leaving because nobody are there to see...

Friendly service (and menu) in English, tasty and varied Greek food but takes a while to get.

The food was very flavourful and plenty of different Greek dishes were offered. Meat dishes were 5/5; spetsofai 5/5; bougiourdi 4/5; grilled veggies were 3/5 - sauce was strange. One downside is that food isn't available to order til 7pm, and then when we ordered at 7pm it took 40min for food to be ready...
