Vatses Beach Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Astypalaia

Είχαμε μια εξαιρετικά απογοητευτική εμπειρία στο Vatses Beach Bar αυτό το καλοκαίρι. Πήγαμε μια μέρα με δυνατό αέρα, και ήταν αδύνατο να μείνουμε στην παραλία και σχεδόν δεν μπορούσαμε να σταθούμε όρθιες, οπότε αποφασίσαμε να πάμε στο beach bar και να κάτσουμε στις ομπρέλες. Προς μεγάλη μας απογοήτευση, μας είπαν ότι όλες οι ομπρέλες ήταν κρατημένες, ενώ αρκετές ήταν άδειες ακόμα. Προτείναμε να καθίσουμε κοντά στις ομπρέλες, αλλά ο απίστευτα αγενής ιδιοκτήτης ήρθε με πάρα πολύ άσχημο τρόπο και μας το αρνήθηκε, παρόλο που δεν ήμασταν στην περιοχή του beach bar που δείχνει το my coast, και ούτε στο μπαρ ήθελε να μας αφήσει.

Ο ιδιοκτήτης άρχισε να μας προσβάλλει και να φωνάζει, λέγοντάς μας να πάμε στα βράχια. Ήμασταν τέσσερις γυναίκες σε μια πραγματικά δύσκολη κατάσταση λόγω του αέρα και αυτός το έκανε ακόμα χειρότερο. Τα 15 ευρώ δεν ήταν τίποτα για εμάς, αλλά μας πρόσβαλε με πολύ άσχημο τρόπο και δεν έχει καμία λογική.

Δυστυχώς, όλα τα αρνητικά σχόλια που διαβάζετε παρακάτω είναι αληθινά. Σας προτείνω να επισκεφτείτε αυτήν την παραλία, αλλά να φέρετε τα δικά σας ποτά και φαγητά. Είμαι βαθιά απογοητευμένη που θεωρεί τον εαυτό του επιχειρηματία και εκπρόσωπο της ελληνικής φιλοξενίας, γιατί δεν μόνο αυτό δεν είναι. Το χαμηλό του επίπεδο και το στενό του μυαλό έχουν δημιουργήσει πολύ άσχημες αναμνήσεις για πολλούς ανθρώπους. Αν δεν είχα ζήσει αυτήν την κακή συμπεριφορά από κοντά, δεν θα πίστευα ότι κάποιος θα μπορούσε να είναι τόσο αγενής και απάνθρωπος. Κρίμα που το επιχειρηματικό του μυαλό δεν λειτουργεί και δυσφημίζει μια εξαιρετικά όμορφη παραλία. We had an extremely disappointing experience at Vatses Beach Bar this summer. We went there on a windy day, and it was impossible to stay on the beach; we could barely stand upright, so we decided to go to the beach bar and pay for the umbrellas. To our greatest disappointment, we were told that all the umbrellas were reserved, even though several were still empty. We suggested sitting near the umbrellas, but the incredibly rude owner came over in a very unpleasant manner and refused, even though we were not in the area of the beach bar that the My Coast app shows, and he didn't even want to let us sit at the bar. The owner started insulting and yelling at us, telling us to go to the rocks. We were four women in a really difficult situation because of the wind, and he made it even worse. The 15 euros were nothing for us, but he insulted us in a very bad way, which made no sense.

Unfortunately, all the negative comments you read below are true. I recommend visiting this beach but bringing your own drinks and food. I am deeply disappointed that he considers himself a businessman and a representative of Greek hospitality because he is not. His bad personality and narrow mind have created very bad memories for many people. If I hadn't experienced this bad behavior myself, I wouldn't believe that someone could be so rude and inhumane. Usually I prefer privacy and silence when going to the beach. But sometimes it is just comfortable having the chance to rent an umbrella and a sunlounger. When we went to Vatses beach for the first time we just gave it a try. And we didn't regret it. There are not too many sun loungers and there is enough space between them to keep some privacy. The two guys at the Beachbar are really cool. So is the music. Relaxing and very international. You can eat some smaller meals there (the toast with olive paste and sardines is very tasteful!). We've been there three days in a row at the end of our stay on Astypalaia. It was the perfect place to relax a few days before returning to Germany and back to work. We will surely come back someday. And when the sun will disappear behind the rocks it will be "FIX...

We wanted to sit/rent the sun beds but only 2 were available under the sun. But due to my wife pregnancy I asked the bar owner if I could place my own umbrella between those 2 sun beds and sit there under the shadow. He refused by saying and I quote “not in my beach bar”.... I can’t allow you to place your umbrella in my beach bar... so its better to let a pregnant woman sit on the sand just because you can’t let a yellow umbrella between yours... pathetic...
