Costas Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

Family owned business, passed over from generations. A small place with just a few tables which brings you back in time. You will be served by a lovely old lady, and her husband cooks. The food is truly traditional Greek, and it's always fresh. I know it's fresh because we were a table of 16 people and they only had a limited amount of portions in the daily specials. An amazing experience of an epoch that we, the young, never got to know. Go inside and look at all the photos since the opening (1930 of I remember well). Ask the lady to tell you the story of the place, it's totally awesome.

It's not a fancy place, it's not luxurious, the food is simple but very good. We even got a home cooked dessert for free, which was absolutely delicious. Even through the place is old, I went into the kitchen, which is new and very clean. The cook was so kind he showed me the daily dishes they had, and explained how he cooked them, because I couldn't decide what to have.

A cozy little restaurant in the heart of the village — warm atmosphere and a wonderful hostess! We started with a Greek salad — fresh, with excellent cheese and olive oil, just as it should be. The eggplant, baked feta, and hummus were all incredibly delicious. We had the set menu: a whole roasted pork knuckle, chicken fillet, and pork steak-everything was perfectly cooked.
