Tristrato cafe-bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

We visited Tristrato for dinner just last week as a young couple. We were driving back in the evening after a long day at the beach and saw it on our way. The atmosphere was lovely. It felt very local and welcoming. The food is authentic greek cuisine with noticeable effort added with seasoning ect.

We were surprised at the reasonability of the pricing. We had a portion of chips and a meat plate for two plus two beers and lemonade for €35 total. The meat plate was a combination of chorizo beef and chicken with fresh tomato and the best feta we have tasted. This filled us up and we couldn’t even finish it all.

This restaurant is such a hidden gem if you looking for a local authentic place. The service was great and we got chatting to some friendly locals seated beside us. we went to this restaurant and our experience was terrible, we ordered a mix of meat for two people and two drinks, the drinks arrived immediately and immediately afterwards some meat "balls" arrived (which we hadn't ordered but thought it was part of the mix of meat) we waited more than an hour thinking that obviously everything was being cooked and in order not to seem rude we didn't ask for the order again but we asked what the mix of meat included, after the hour of waiting we asked the boy how much was missing to get the dish to us and he replied that he had forgotten the order... I underline the fact that the restaurant was EMPTY. This place absolutely made our trip to Corfu. After eating here on our first day, we tried to return as much as possible during our stay.

The other reviews I have read of this restaurant have failed to mention that this establishment is mostly ran by one single elder lady. She is incredible. She takes the orders, cooks the food, and serves the food. She often does this for many tables at a time. She embodies the authentic Greek dining experience.

The food is absolutely delicious. It is fresh and consistently good with each visit. As our friend stated about the tomatoes in the Greek salad “I can taste the sun with each bite of these tomatoes”.
