Papaioannou Fish Meze — Restaurant in Municipality of Chalkida

With no prior experience at this place I went to have a dinner. I didn't have any reservation, but the staff was polite and immediately show me a table where I can sit. The menu is not big, but it has some very interesting things in it. When you don't know what do order, you order the thing with the name of the place in it. So I've ordered Papaioannou salad. It was perfect. Green salad, with walnuts and a very delicious dressing. Fried zucchini and eggplant was also top quality. The scordalia, a type of garlic sauce, was delicious. But the main star of the meal was the Papaioannou saganaki. Shrimps and cheese - this was the best. Bread was also amazing - with olive oil and spices. Ένα πολύ όμορφο μαγαζί με πολύ καλή εξυπηρέτηση. Όλα ευπαρουσίαστα αλλά από γεύση όχι.. Μια μερίδα καλαμαράκια τηγανητά, ήταν πραγματικά σαν να μασάω και να γεύομαι φελιζόλ. Το σαγανάκι είχε μια πάρα πολύ άσχημη γεύση στη σάλτσα. Ενώ είχα ξαναπάει και μου άρεσε, αυτή τη φορά ήταν απαράδεκτο. Δεν μπορούσα να προσδιορίσω καν τι ακριβώς με ενοχλεί γιατί ήταν όλο λάθος. Συν ότι το τυρί δεν ήταν μαγειρεμένο στη σάλτσα για να λιώσει, αλλά κομμένο και πεταμένο από πάνω. Με μεγάλες προσδοκίες παραγγείλαμε και τα νιοκι με πικάντικη καραβίδα, την οποία λατρεύουμε, όμως και πάλι η σάλτσα είχε πάρα πολύ άσχημη γεύση. Το χειρότερο ήταν ότι ενώ το αναφέραμε και φαινόταν ότι τα πιάτα ήταν σχεδόν ανέγγιχτα, τα δώσαμε πίσω, χρεώθηκαν κανονικά και στο τέλος δεν μας κέρασαν ούτε ένα γλυκό, παρόλο που είδαν πόσο δυσαρεστημένοι φεύγουμε.
