Café Agia Lake — Restaurant in Municipality of Chania

Excellent view at Agia lake, very large space available to seat indoor and outdoor, a new swimming pool this year, with a grass covered yard with umbrellas and cozy chairs to seat and relax, great food, burgers, pizza, local unpasteurised and unfiltered handcrafted beer ( Charma ). A great place, a must visit.

2023 update : Unfortunately through our last couple of visits we sadly realised that all of the dishes we've tasted have inferior quality compared to the past experience... This being said with the prices up to 2 euros higher than three years ago... Club sandwich with the smallest portion of " fried potatoes" we've ever seen ( used to be twice as much) but with the highest price one can come across these days. Cheesecake that our - sweet eater - son didn't even finish half of it. Mediocre cream and the thinnest layer of tasteless strawberry jam on top. Mosaic ( mosaiko) came to deliver the worst case scenario of taste and quality. 10 people at our table and no-one liked it not even a bit. Lemon pie was the only dish that merely resembled the once glorious desert of this place. Some very bad tasting processed cheese - maybe cheddar but definitely processed - in the burger and the club sandwich as well. In any case the club was always my least favourite at this place. Completely dried out burger. Decent coffee ( cappuccino) but not worth the price ( 4.30€ if I remember well) to quality ratio...

Lightning fast and excellent quality service and professional staff keep the banners high, hence the five star service experience.

Location excellent and nice atmosphere as always.

A place that we'll keep on visiting due to it's great location, the playground and the kid's playroom.

Wish the management will focus on restoring the place's previous food and desert quality...

Not a place where the kids can be kids...We were a group of total 9 persons with 4 kids among us. The kids were excited to be again in this place after a whole year and we were looking forward to a relaxed day by the pool.We got only 4 sunbeds and tried our best to fit in but ok we said we will make it work. We had brought a small ball suitable for the pool in order for the kids to play but we were informed by the staff that it's not allowed with balls in the pool. After some time one of the kids with his dad wanted to play and went all the way to the back where there were no people to disturb or "danger" to break something. Again they were denied to play no matter that the dad explained that it will be just a few passes. What is the point to charge 5 euros per kid and either sit on a sunbed or swim with no toys in the pool.

Very good food, excellent cooked and good portions! Something we didn't find very often through all the tavernas we've been all over Crete. The prices are really, really good for the quality of food and compared with other restaurants. The complimentary dessert of baklava pieces and 2 balls of good ice cream was a pleasant surprise! The view of the lake is also spectacular! I rated 1 star less for service because when we entered Noone greeted us, we helped ourselves to a table and a couple of menus.
