Overrated and overpriced.
Nothing as a complimentary welcome (tortillas with salsa), but a bill of 51.5€ for two margaritas, fajitas, and a burrito. Burrito had none of the standard sides (rice, beans, etc), just salad. Fajitas had a generous portion of meat, but for 21€ that was about it.
As far as the taste, my burrito tasted like nothing, meaning I could taste the meat but not the other ingredients. I certainly didn't taste any of the ingredients mentioned on the menu. And who puts barbeque sauce on top? Why? Same for the fajitas: tasted like nothing; no spiciness, no cilantro to stand out, just dry meat with none of the sides standing out to create that Mexican flavor.
Also, if you love truly spicy food, like I do, bring your own hot sauces. I stressed that I wanted the hottest they could make it, and it still wasn't spicy enough.
As a final note, when the bill came (48.50€), the waitress came back and said it was 3€ more for the extra hot sauce I had asked for. I paid it, but you are really charging me for a small plate of below par hot sauce that costs you pennies on the Euro and should be for free? Not a good look.
If you have had good Mexican and have expectations, this place will not...
Read moreThis review is from my visit on a taco Tuesday. Great atmosphere, good food, kinda long wait time for table, but express service. Food arrived in less than 10 minutes with the place being at max capacity. The staff was also friendly. As for the food: well it's kind of what you can expect for 1 euro tacos on taco Tuesday. The beef was excellent, the pork was great, the chicken was dry. The veggie taco was very refreshing but not to my taste, at least I can say I have eaten cactus now. The nachos are good but predictable. My biggest disappointment was that when I ordered my nachos with chille con Carn spicy, I don't want jalapeños to be the only spice on the plate. Overall really worth a visit and I'll definitely be going again to try out more plates and maybe some alcohol since I didn't get a chance...
Read moreNot sure how the people are giving high rates for this place, It is very noisy and the service was okay. No prebussing at the tables unless you ask twice. We asked for ice three times. If you want cold water at 10 at night you are out of luck. According to the server not enough space to keep the water cold. The limes we served as you can see from the picture were old and not fresh. Now their chef definitely has mixed up Mex and Chin-ese kitchens. The shrimp fajitas are served in a sauce like sweet and sour. No charcoaled veggies, just a mixture. The homemade guacamole was so watery and no sign of any avocado residue. On the positive they have valet parking. If you want to experience authentic Mexican food in Athens good luck. So far I haven't found a place that can serve this simple but tasteful...
