I got disappointed from this place: I used to go back in the 70's, when it was a simple Greek typical tavern, and was the best deal. We had a booking for 5 people, I got first, and the very young Albanian waiter puts his arm around my shoulder, like we knew eachother for years, trying to joke and being friendly!!!! Of course bi told him I wasn't happy with that.. After everyone came, service was really slow. Some of the dishes were very tasty, some nothing special. But some overpriced, a very small portion of horta salad, greens they mention it, costs 8!!! euros, when everywhere around it's much more generous portion for 6 euros, and when soutzoukakia ( 4 meat balls in red sauce cooked in the oven plus rice) costs 12, doesn't make sense... Red house wine was really good At the end, really appreciated, they offer a cake, but not a Greek recipe and super super sweet, none of us could eat more than two bites!!! Better to offer a scoop...
Read moreMama Mia! What can I begin to say. I go to Greece every year with my family. My grandmother was Greek and my grandfather was German so we always say the Greeks adopted him - ha! My little boy he loves Greece so much - the sun, the sand. His freckles come out after just one day - one day! His doctor tells me he should wear a sun shirt but a boy should be able to run free.
I came here with my family on an eight night, nine day cruise. We got round trip tickets from JFK for a good price so even though it was September and my baby boy needed to be taken out of school we said the hell with it! Greece calls.
What can I say? The food is like mamas. The souvlaki melts in your mouth. My little boy ate two servings of fish and I can barely get him to eat a bite of my fish at home. Hurts a little, but what can I say. I’m just glad he enjoyed the trip. Tradition lives on....
Read moreThe food is good but takes ages. I get the impression this is an old fashioned restaurant with a lengthy history which they’re very proud of. In my visit they’d taken a big booking for about thirty people, so everyone else got stuck outside. My waiter just didn’t understand me, no I don’t speak Greek. But we got a nice meal. I usually like a bottle of wine but they only seem to serve glasses of local house wine. It was like Greece fifty years ago. The dinner took an absolute age, nearly two hours! I decided to give up and pay up and leave. Which is a shame, I’d have bought more, paid more and tipped more. I also noticed they all smoking in the dining area. A...
