AMAZING!!! UNFORGETTABLE, MAGICAL MEAL and EXPERIENCE- Will be hard to repeat By grace, by luck, by great fortune we docked our boat directly in front of this small intimate restaurant and inquired if we could get a reservation for 10. I met the owner who assured me no problem and that this would be a meal I would never forget and he was correct. We chose to have the chef table that was set up as a square So we could all see each other. Then the magic happened, one dish after another, beautifully presented on their own platter or special bowl We felt like we were at a friend’s home. We had a delicious tomato salad, carpaccio, seviche, black squid risotto ( oh my god ) two types of pasta, and more plus dessert Plenty for everyone plus Great wine, The owner served us most of the meal delighted by our delight. In many restaurants of this caliber you would expect to pay several hundred dollars per person and we were happily surprised at our bill. I will come back from California just to dine again. I am a trained chef and I can honestly say That it does not get better than this. He has just recently opened having been a chef himself and I expect the word will get out soon enough Because this is truly a one of a...
Read moreWe were on a sailing vacation and excited to splurge on what we thought would be a great seafood meal. We were seated promptly for our reservation and given a bucket of waters on ice — which we had to pour ourselves (unusual for a fine dining experience). We assumed someone would be by shortly, but over 45 minutes passed without a single visit to our table.
We eventually flagged down a server to ask for menus, and the staff looked incredibly put out by the request — then brought only three dinner menus for our group of seven (no wine list).
The restaurant was half empty, so it was especially strange to be ignored when there seemed to be almost as many staff as diners.
Our group included someone with a shellfish allergy (but can eat fish) and a pescatarian — very reasonable at a seafood restaurant. Apparently not. The owner seemed offended by the idea of accommodating allergies and told us to “go eat garbage somewhere else.”
We were shocked to be treated so poorly and ended up leaving. Thankfully, we found a welcoming spot down the road and enjoyed a beautiful meal — with wonderful food and...
Read moreFor our last vacation dinner, we booked this decently rated restaurant. Most tables on the seafront side were for groups. We had to sit on the other side of the street, which is not too busy so that was ok… until a large group arrived, with their numerous young children; the parents had their own table by the sea, and all the 10 kids or so were seated on our side of the street, at the table right next to ours. As these customers were obviously regulars—we are not—the staff made sure that the kids were served in priority. As a result, we had to wait more than 45 minutes for our second course in the noisiest environment you can imagine. The owner asked us, when we asked for the bill, whether ‘all was ok’. Hearing our dissatisfaction, he just could not bother, nor offered any compensation, drink, dessert,… or to sit us to one of the very few tables for couples that had in the meantime become available. A real disappointment. Don’t go if you are...
