We stumbled upon this simple taverna with the most authentic & tasty "home cooked" meal we had while in Crete. The owner verbally offered what he could cook for us that day -the meatballs, chicken and potatoes were so good! It seemed popular for local takeaway meals. We will also not forget their kindness - Due to an unfortunate accident on the South shore that day, I had just received a cast at the local orthopedic clinic. Then after our meal our car would not start & he offered assistance, translated Greek to the rental car agency, and offered us to wait inside his restaurant out of the heat - very comforting! We would like to visit again to enjoy another great meal and again...

Wonderful, unassuming little hole in the wall. Amazing homemade dishes that speak to authentic cuisine that's hard to find in most touristy areas of the island. Don't expect a quick souvlaki and a gyro here - expand your pallette and eat like a local. I had stewed calamari with onions and a side of potatoes. Great dish!

Welcoming traditional family taverna - highly recommended! Nice variety of Greek salad, fava, vegetables, fish, stuffed cabbage rolls, gemista, and more. As I said, extremely friendly and lovely atmosphere right in the center. Convenient and tasty. Lots of take out traffic here as well so people seek this delicious food out.
