Waited over 2 hours for 2 orders - fried "rabbit special" and "lamb" . The single waiter was largely absent throughout preferring to sit, smoking and socialising with the owners in full view!! Bizarre delay given the lack of customers (all of whom were tourists; I also noted a lack of locals mentioned in another review) - numbering 2 other couples. When the food arrived, the chips/fries were soggy and the lamb overcooked/burnt. The rabbit "special" (ie. Fried) was equally bland and tasted dry. Greek salad was edible - but God knows how you can ruin chopping vegetables to mix with feta and olive oil. The watermelon juice had the added unwelcome taste of onions - clearly a consequence of contaminated/unwashed utensils. When it came to settling the bill their card reader wasn't working, causing an inconvenience as we had to find an ATM (nearest being 10 mins drive away). They were unapologetic and attempted to bribe us for a good review on Google with another rather unappetizing free dessert and rough tasting raki. Conclusion: overpriced tourist trap run by an incompetent family who should have no business working in hospitality or the restaurant business. Come if you want tobacco smoke in your face while dining on subpar food and to be ignored by the service. Quite literally the worse taverna we've experienced all holiday and not at all reflective of Crete's generally fantastic rustic culinary culture....

Attentive and...
Read moreBeautiful location. Friendly owner. However both the chicken fillet and grilled rabbit were a bit dry. Maybe it was an off day for the cook. But the fried zucchini and saganaki were absolutely delicious!
And the host offering us a raki and slices of watermelon at the end was a treat. Would I go back, maybe... If I were looking for something light. Was...
