Pirolithos Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Ilion

Very bad experience. I have been there in the past and the quality is now quite low in most of the dishes: not tasty seafood, use of too much mayonnaise, dry fried dishes etc. On top of it, the final bill was extremely high for the quality, the location and the overall service of the restaurant (207€ for 4 persons), which was issued after we had paid, only because i asked for it (to check it out at home). The reasons: we were charged very high prices for dishes not included in the menu; at the end, we were asked what they can get us as dessert implying it's on the house: we were charged for everything; the best was that a dish we never ordered (and also not received) was charged as well. I am deeply disappointed, because nothing is as it used to be: bad service, higher prices, low quality, low attention to customers' comments... In the past, it used to be a gourmet, value for money restaurant, which is no more the case. I was very embarrassed at the end of the night, because i was the one who suggested the place to my friends and no-one was happy about my choice including me... In less words:...

Πριν μερικές βδομάδες επισκέφτηκα το συγκεκριμένο μαγαζί τυχαία, καθώς βρισκόμουν στην περιοχή και διάβασα καλές κριτικές. Παραγγείλαμε ψάρια, μύδια, χτένια, μπρουσκετα με σκουμπρί και κυδωνια. Τα υπόλοιπα πιάτα εκτός από τα κυδώνια ήταν αρκετά καλά. Τα κυδώνια κόστιζαν 2 η 3 ευρώ το ένα (κι όταν λέω το 1 εννοώ το 1 από τα 2 καπάκια του οστρακου) κάτι που δεν έχω ξαναδεί σε κατάστημα (συνήθως κοστίζει 7-11 ευρώ η μερίδα με 6-10 κυδώνια ολοκληρα). Το πιο περίεργο ήταν ότι μου έφεραν 3 τεμάχια κυδώνια (1 κυδώνι και μισό δλδ) και αναρωτήθηκα τι θα το έκαναν το άλλο μισό (εφόσον μιλάμε για φρέσκο όστρακο και άλλοι πελάτες δεν υπήρχαν εκείνη την ώρα στο μαγαζί). Τα κυδώνια δεν ήταν φρεσκα, δεν κουνήθηκαν με το λεμόνι (απαραιτητο για να είναι φρέσκο) και είχε το θράσος ο μαγαζατορας να μου πει ότι τα βάζουν στο ψυγείο γιατί έξω έχει ζεστη. Δεν είναι κακό να μη γνωρίζεις από όστρακα. Είναι τουλάχιστον όμως επικινδυνο και ΝΤΡΟΠΗ να μην ξέρεις πως να τα συντηρείς, να τα έχεις στον κατάλογο, να τα προσφέρεις στον πελάτη, να μην είναι φρέσκα και να του λες κιόλας : " Εμπιστευσου με και φα τα". Ευτυχώς που γνωρίζω από όστρακα. Το ότι αφαιρέθηκαν από το λογαριασμό όλα εκτός από το ένα που κουνήθηκε ελάχιστα και δεν είχε καλή γεύση και το εφαγα...

Really very good restaurant with nice food on the menu and good service with polite and willing staff. I have visited it a few times and it is always of a high standard in both food and service. It is a solid value in the area.
