My friends and I had a Sunday evening meal at Agrilia and found it, on the whole, an underwhelming experience. Whilst Agrilia is a fairly atmospheric restaurant, with great seating all overlooking the Messinian Gulf, the food and service let it down. The wine selection was limited and the grilled octopus, my main dish, was a limp couple of tentacles that were more of a jaw workout than an evening meal, such was its chewiness. The accompanying chips were served cold. On request of having them reheated, a new portion came out, after a long wait, hot but undercooked. The starters, especially the Greek Salad, were much nicer dishes fortunately. The service began promisingly, with a young man providing friendly and attentive service. However, as the restaurant picked up, we lost our server, who was replaced by a waiter who neglected us for long periods of time. With better service, I'm sure we would have stayed longer and bought more. It's a pity we didn't enjoy Agrilia, as we were staying in a very nearby villa and would have returned throughout the rest of the week if it was better. We settled instead for a restaurant a little way down the road for multiple meals. I suspect that some wiser meal selections and better service, my meal would have been improved!

The drive up to this place of fragrance of happy expectancy was a little adventurous. Do not take the dirt road😄. The steep descent to the parking lot also took some encouragement but I prevailed. The reward was a welcome with happy faces and communication went smoothly what made me confident that my gluten allergie was save there. The ambiance in this hill side establishment was very good, the view of the sea and town beautiful while the soft Greek music gave the final touch. The food was very good however it was the almost mesmerizing atmosphere that makes me recommend this almost secret place the most. The word efcharistó (thanks) is still trying to get hold in our brains but it's the good intention that counts. The only surprise was at the register but it was for them because my personal philosophy is that gratitude should be shown. It made a good day perfect.

Definitely one of the restaurants with the best view of Kalamata. in the evening the view is phenomenal, as is the sunset. The food is delicious, I would definitely recommend "pork tenderlion Agrilia", "meatballs in tomato sauce with yogurt", "one of the best souvlaki I've tried", "house wine to drink". The staff is very helpful and will help you with anything. Kostas is a wonderful man who made sure that we had many unforgettable evenings in the restaurant. If you are passing through, there on vacation or from Kalamata, you will not be mistaken if you come. And whenever we are there, we will come to our favorite place for dinner.

I would only eat here again because of the view, the food was okay, not the best you can find in this area. Also, they told me they would serve my dish with roasted potatoes because I told them I had an allergy to an ingredient , however, they brought my dish with the food I was allergic to and they charged us extra (2,50 €) for a side of the roasted potatoes (which they originally said they would give me). Also, my friend heard the waitress complaining to the chef about us being needy (because of an allergy!?) when my friend walked past them on the way to the restroom. Ultimately, disappointing customer service and would not be my first choice to take a friend to impress...
