Sea breeze Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Kalymnos

We spent 8 days in Arginonta for climbing and vacation, and from the very first day we were looking for a spot by the beach to eat and swim. That’s when we met Michalis. He was incredibly friendly, and right away we felt welcome. He brought us a table right by the water so we could enjoy our meal on the beach, and he gave us great tips about the best places to visit on the island.

Throughout our stay, we tried food all around Kalymnos, but the meals prepared by Michalis and Popi were by far the best. On our last day, we asked Michalis to cook mouri, the traditional dish of Kalymnos, and he was genuinely happy to do it. Over dinner, he shared stories about life on the island and about his beloved father, who had built up the place from nothing.

When it was time to leave, Michalis gifted us a bag of local thyme (throumpi) and told us that if we ever needed anything from Kalymnos, he would happily send it by boat. That gesture, like so many others, made us feel at home, even though we were far away.

Have you ever wondered what its like to grow up on a Greek Island with a little Greek grandmother that cooks you astonishing food that is derived from old recipes passed down in the family? Well wonder no more going to Sea Breeze gives you a little taste of what that's like. When my starving crew of smelly climbers rolled in after a long day looking for a simple Mythos we were greeted by Kalliopi (the Greek grandmother you never had but always wanted). Unknowingly we got there after the kitchen had closed, but that didn't stop Kalliopi from offering up some amazing dolmades from a pot right off your stove that i'm convinced were for her family that night.

Sea breeze is a GEM and if you stop by after climbing on the northern side of the island hopefully you get to meet the legendary Kalliopi!

Absolutely our favorite place to be in Kálymnos. Idyllic views, cozy atmosphere. Just the right amount of Greek music in the background. A beautiful beach to discover and keep coming back to. You will see the most beautiful sunsets on this island and the authentic home-style Greek cuisine is delicious. On top of that, the owner mike is a very friendly host who always noticed in time what we needed. It's just a pity that we couldn't give him six stars, here we can only continue...
