My first encounter with Kampanari was simple – I just needed some water and beers. They were not only happy to help, but also encouraged me to return the bottles the next day for recycling. This eco-conscious touch shows they care about the environment, which is a big plus.

Enticed by the welcoming atmosphere, we returned for breakfast the following day. We weren't disappointed! My husband and I shared a perfectly cooked omelet and a hearty ham sandwich, both bursting with flavor. The portions were incredibly generous, so much so that they practically doubled as lunch! Complementing the food were two refreshing Greek frappes, the perfect way to start a sunny day.

Throughout our meal, the service remained exceptional. The staff was attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our delicious breakfast.

We got take-out dinner 4 out of 5 nights while in Kissamos at Kampanari Taverna. The owner/staff, service and food were absolutely outstanding. We were a little overheated and tired from Athens and enjoying the view and relaxation at our beautiful villa in Kissamos and once we discovered Kampanari and how incredible their Greek/Cretan food was, we had a hard time going anywhere else. Our son said it was the best lamb he had ever tasted. We became addicted to their tzatziki, spicy cheese dip, Cretan dakos, saganaki, zucchini balls, greek salad and kalitsounia. The wonderful owner always gave us a large takeout dish of fresh watermelon, which our kids devoured. We absolutely fell in love with their food and with some of the traditional Greek/Cretan items we had never had before - it is making me sad to think how long it may be until we have these things again. My only regret is not taking more pictures of the incredible food as it was a huge part of our wonderful memories of our first trip to Crete. Very highly...

I would like to write this review because this place is above 5 stars. Service = Amazing with family environment where everyone is more than happy to help. Food = This took my attention, I have ordered this night the chicken breast for take away + tzitak, OMG the taste of this chicken was fantastic, the home made fries was fabulous. Thanks for providing this amazing food. If you can do it with a chicken, I couldn’t imagine the rest of the meat. Thanks again and keep this quality of food and service.
