Situated at the edge of Chora, Belvedere’s patio offers a great panoramic view to the castle and Kapsali bay below. Friendly, polite and professional staff will make you feel welcome. Overall, it’s a nice attempt to offer Italian fine-dining, but still has some way to go (minor tweaks are needed). We had their version of traditional Kythira salad, which despite being very tasty, was served in the wrong type of (flat) plate, which forced us to chase around cherry tomatoes, olives and capers with our forks. Their bruschetta with prosciutto and sun-dried tomato was really tasty but pretty hard to cut (either by knife or bite). The carbonara-type rigatoni was honestly blunt, whereas the shrimp orzo was particularly tasty and saved the day. The cocktails we tried were really good. We retuned to the island after one year and tried belvedere again. We were pleased to discover that not only it remains The best place in the island but they have evn improved. It is by far the place to chose if you want a nice, calm dinner with unbelievable view!The location is iconic. The service is exceptional. Quick, polite, real pros! Kudos to all the staff. the menu is not mindblowing but whatever they serve is well cooked and delicious. there is a great variety of dishes to choose from inspired from mediterranean cuisine. Everything we ordered was rich and tastful. Portions are huge so beware on how many dishes you order. We ordered one salad and two mains and it was way too much. Fresh, meticulously picked and prepped ingredients make for an amazing dish. This restaurant is no stranger to delivering this "amazing dish" that customers seek to enjoy. The duck dish I was served was full of flavour and tenderness, without slacking on the presentation either. Accompanied with a complementary view and sweet jazz music, this made for a satisfying experience to day the least.
