Sotiris.seafood — Restaurant in Municipality of Kythira

Impeccable service, very good value for money (it’s not cheap, but it’s very good value for the quality they offer), and genuinely very tasty food.

Try the lobster pasta for sure. They do a great job with it! Also the garlic spread and aubergine salad were exceptionally good!

They also have fresh fish you can pick out to have grilled for you as with most fish taverns, but the fish was fresh and they did not try to oversell anything.

Before going you can consider going to the baths of Venus, the little bay in front of the restaurant, with crystal clear and cool waters. I would advise going there for a swim at around 6 and then go to Sotiris for dinner.

They also offered us very tasty watermelon at the end, and they also gave us some beers and tsipouro on the house, just because the waiter dropped a plate on the table (nothing happened, it was a clean plate that didn’t even break, it just startled us) The owner’s son who greeted us also gave us an amazing tip for a bar around the corner (review to follow), where we danced...

The food was ok. Some things were good, some not so good. The service was ok too. We were a big group of people, we were served relatively fast. No variety. Two different fresh fish. No fresh seafood (like squid, calamari) except for lobster which was extremely expensive. The rest was frozen. The salad was not good. I haven't tasted so tasteless tomatoes in Greece before. When I went to pay, because no one was looking at us for a long time, the person at the counter was telling off a waitress and he did not wait for me to leave to continue. Very unprofessional. Also I asked to put the tip in the card but in the receipt the tip was market 0 and instead the total amount was raised. I mentioned it and I said that I hoped they do give the tip back to the service and the person at the counter said yes yes, we do it for tax reasons. Well, I do hope...

We ended up eating here mainly because there were no other options available at the time, and we were initially disheartened by the low reviews. However, we were pleasantly surprised—the food was delicious! The vegetarian options, especially the garidomakaronada, were excellent. Despite being the only one serving a large dining area, the waiter was very efficient and friendly.

Our only small complaint is about the portion sizes for the main meat dishes, which felt a bit on the smaller side. Other than that, a very enjoyable...
