Τα Κοψίδια — Restaurant in Municipality of Livadia

VERY DISAPPOINTING. Booked lunch for our tour group of 25 but on arrival were told to "Be patient" because it was Saturday and they were very busy. Our order was taken about 40 minutes after being seated but was delivered rather efficiently after that. The staff have a policy of trying to direct you concerning seating and food. "There are a lot of flies if you sit outside." "Try the προβατίνα κοντοσούβλι (skewered mutton pieces) because it's more tender than the mutton chops you want to order." "You must try our HANDMADE κοκορέτσι (offal wrapped in gut)." "Our tzatziki is HANDMADE and made to order"

The rundown: White wine (λευκό κρασί) - tasty and robust with no after effects Chips - very good Salads - good but small portions Tzatziki - tasty but suspiciously fluffy and not tangy expected of real local yoghurt Mutton chops (παϊδάκια προβατίνας) -perfectly grilled, a little chewy to be expected Beef patty (μπιφτέκι)-dry and indifferent, rather poor quality mince mixed with too much bread and onion Mutton pieces on the skewer (προβατίνα κοντοσούβλι) - random pieces of undercooked bony chunks some of which tasted more boiled than grilled Kokoretsi- both the intestine wrapping and the chopped offal were very dry and over-seasoned Pork chunks on the skewer (χοιρινό κοντοσούβλι) - pieces of lean pork cooked so dry even the resident stray cats had trouble chewing on it

All the meat was loaded with salt despite my clear request when ordering to hold the salt. The head waiter was apologetic and offered a few pieces of slightly less dry kokoretsi later.

No small dessert (κέρασμα) was offered, as is customary in tavernas of this type. Prices would be fair if the food was acceptable. No official tax receipt was given on payment. The extremely cramped toilets are accessible upstairs only by a...

Χωρίς να έχω δοκιμάσει τα υπόλοιπα του είδους του στη Λιβαδειά, θα τολμήσω να πω πως είναι δύσκολο να υπάρχει καλύτερο! Ο κόσμος ερχόταν και ξαναερχοταν συνεχώς και εξυπηρετούνταν εξ'αρχης πολύ σωστά. Παρά τον πολύ κόσμο, υπήρχε σωστός συντονισμός στο προσωπικό και τα πρώτα πιάτα έφτασαν πολύ γρήγορα στο τραπέζι μας. Εξαιρετικό λευκό κρασί, ψωμί ψημένο στα κάρβουνα λαδοριγανη, ντάκος με μπόλικη φέτα, τζατζίκι πολύ καλό (και μάλιστα επιλέγεις το ποσό δυνατό το θέλεις στο σκόρδο), σαγανακι κεφαλοτύρι ήταν ψητό και όχι τηγανητό και ίσως να ήταν το μόνο που δεν θα έλεγα ότι θα ξαναεπαιρνα, τηγανητές πατάτες ωραίες χειροποίητες, αλλά περιττές για εμάς, αφού είχαν και οι μερίδες. Στα κρέατα θα έβαζα πολύ υψηλή βαθμολογία, καθώς και το κοκορέτσι και η προβατίνα και τα αρνίσια παϊδάκια ήταν εξαιρετικά. Το κοκορέτσι ήταν κυρίως με πνευμονι, γλυκαδια και ήταν σωστά αλατισμένο για τα γούστα μου και καλά ξεροψημενο. Η προβατίνα είχε όλα της τα κομμάτια παϊδακια κανονικά, τα οποία ήταν πολύ νόστιμα με μπόλικο λιπακι όπως άλλωστε έχει η προβατίνα. Τα αρνίσια παϊδάκια ίσως ακόμα καλύτερα, ένα προς ένα ήταν παϊδακια κανονικά, 10/10 ψημένα με σωστο αλάτι. Η κυρία που έχει το μαγαζί από ο,τι κατάλαβα συνήθως βρίσκεται εντός κουζίνας, αλλά εμείς σήμερα την πετύχαμε εκτός και έχω να σχολιάσω ότι είναι πολύ γλυκιά, εξυπηρετική με ανθρώπινη συμπεριφορά και καθόλου στημένη. Εννοείται πως αν πήγαινα πάλι Λιβαδειά, θα επισκεφτομουνα και πάλι το ίδιο μαγαζί...

A nice little taverna, very warm atmosphere, quick and good service. We arrived before lunchtime (around 11:30 AM), so the place was empty, but we followed other recommendations and weren't disappointed.
