Elia taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Mandra-Eidyllia

We went there for lunch 2 weeks ago. We called first to make a reservation for 2 people and a dog. On the phone, they informed us that since we have a dog, we are not allowed to sit inside the restaurant but outside at the smoking area. No problem for us, (in greece we are used to people not treating the pets as a family members) we went there around 17.00 and the tavern was almost empty. We found someone who seemed to be a waiter or the person in charge and asked him to show us where to sit. He told us: normally we do not accept dogs but since you called and they told you on the phone that you can come with the dog, the only place where you can sit, is there (pointing the smoking area). We agreed but he continued: however, if some of the other clients have a problem with your dog - an allergy for instance- then you understand that I can't kick those clients out! (Meaning that he would have to kick us and our dog out!). We confronted him and informed him that the law allows our presence there with the dog and if a client has a problem or an allergy, they are the ones who should leave and sit somewhere else since the place is almost empty. Anyway, he continued saying irrational things and if we weren't really hungry, we would have left. I don't know if this was the personal opinion of this specific person or if it is their policy. In conclusion, we won't eat there again, there are thousands of restaurants which treat our dog as family and I wouldn't not recommend it to anyone who wants to have lunch or dinner with their pets. It is a traditional tavern located in Gliati Square in the center of Mandra, a short distance from the National Highway. It has a very large room with tables and toilets in the basement, but also many tables outside in the square. It has many meat options, but nothing special to leave Athens and drive all the way to Mandra. Worth it only as a detour from the National Highway. Το μαγαζί σαν κτίριο μπορώ να πω ότι δεν έχει να ζηλέψει τίποτα από πανάκριβα καταστήματα στα νότια κ βόρια της Αθήνας. Από εκεί και πέρα όμως ενώ η ποιότητα του φαγητού είναι σε ικανοποιήτικα επίπεδα, το σέρβις και η εξυπηρέτηση του προσωπικού θεωρώ ότι δεν πιάνει ούτε ένα αστέρι. Λάθη με επιβάρυνση οικονομική στον πελάτη στον λογαριασμό και το χειρότερο όλων.. ενώ ζητήσαμε γλυκό απο τον σερβιτόρο που μας , αυτός όχι μόνο δεν έδωσε την παραγγελία στην κουζίνα αλλά πηρέ το πιάτο του από την κουζίνα, κάθησε να φάει σε ένα τραπέζι και εμείς περιμέναμε 20 λεπτά το γλυκό που του είχαμε παραγγείλει. Αφού πέρασε τόσος χρόνος μικήσαμε σε έναν άλλον σερβιτόρο ο οποίος μας ΑΓΝΟΗΣΕ κανονικότατα σαν να μην υπήρχαμε.. Έπειτα αφου μιλήσαμε σε τρίτο σερβιτόρο εστάλει η παραγγελία για το γλυκό στην κουζίνα και καθώς μας σέρβιρε μετά μας ενηνέρωσε οτι ο πρώτος σερβιτόρος είχε σχολάσει και είχε φύγει απο το μαγαζί. Όταν ζητήσαμε τον λογαριασμό απο τον 3το σερβιτόρο, ξαφνικά εμφανίστηκε ως δια μαγείας ο σερβιτόρος που μας είχε ξεχάσει παντελώς για να φάει και στην συνέχεια είχε σχολάσει και φύγει οπως μας είχαν πει.. Αυτά εν έτη 2021 και σε ένα μαγαζί που οι εκταταστάσεις του παίρνουν 5/5 .
